The 03 seat is not the same as the earlier one. You need to know which one you want mate.

There is a different tail on the 03 rsv. It is slimmer and lower than the earlier (2) models. It has a different seat/cowl. It was also used on early model Tuonos (03-05?)

Thanks for the info,my bike is an rsv r its on an 03 plate but when looking at the vin number its got 01 in it so its an 01 model (zdfrpa01********) though it's on a private plate starts V60***The tail piece is the one which looks like vents on top.

Beware the 03 type also has 'vents' on top, like this:
The one you want is not flat across the back. It is shaped around the rear lights.

I'm not aware the 'lines' have any function at all. I've always thought of them as a styling feature rather than a functional one.
