Has anyone tried racing spark plugs?? if so was it worth it? seen some comments about them on another site & was thinking that as the bike is in pieces while it is being painted it might be worth changing the plugs:dunno

I have put iridium plugs in mine and not really felt the difference, in either starting or running.

I also got the iridium plugs (ngk dcpr9eix), also no diference, but they last a bit longer and they supposed to be "self-cleaning" and if everything for this bike is so expensive, why start saving on plugs :D

Have tried platignum, iridium and standard plugs over the years(NGK,Denso and Breez(multi electrode)in Ducatis,Aprilias,Harleys, classic Triumphs made no difference, they all go or foul when your battery voltage is low.Ducatis like Denso.Aprilias go well with the standard NGK's.IMHO.AL

Racing plugs have no tip like a normal plug generally so there isn't anything to drop into the motor and trash it.

Not sure they offer anything to the road user especially as they are designed to be changed very often usually.

Iridium plugs are hard to qauntify. How do you know that when your bike started this morning with them in that it would have done with them out?
Knowing how fickle Rsv's can be at starting any extra help you can give it is a bonus in my book.

At £5 more (2 plug setup) if it makes little/no difference to your bike what have you lost really.
For me they made a difference and i've fitted them to everything since but like tyres everyone has their own preference. If you look at the subject across all bike makes on forums the topic is split 50/50 for and against. The thing that made me try them in the end was the Tech at NGK on their stand in 2007. He made a very compelling arguement.

It's a bit like race filters. I've never noticed any diference whatsoever from fitting a race filter peronally. Airbox mods etc yeah but a race filter no.
Bet there is an awful lot of people who would argue otherwise though. That's what makes this whole thing interseting for me. someone always has a different angle on what makes a bike work best for them and that's cool.
Long may it continue
