My thoughts too STL. Mind you, they do look great. Still, we wouldn't be trying to get brake dust off the rear wheel would we? :devious

yeah i saw aus rims look cool but loads of bikes like that and wanted to be a little different . i now the cleaning thing is alot of work but i only use bike on nice days and keep it really clean anyway . they look dead smart and the polish i put on em should make things easier to just wipe off dirt after a ride and re apply polish :dunno

wat ever they are getting done and will post pics in my garage .if they are to much of a pain i will get em powder coated later :thumbup.

can't you get them clearcoated and have the best of both worlds ?

I think you might even get clear powder coat these days

they are just being mirror polished .he said he can laquer them for me but wont guarantee it will work as the finish is so good on the finished wheel it wont stick properly and water gets underneath it . also the laquered finish makes it go dull looking .

if i keep on top of them i cant see to much trouble and in winter i will take wheels off and keep em in the house away from condensation, under stairs (says the missus) in the lounge says me so i can drool over em lol :devious

lee only charges £190 for both wheels and they are perfect when done . thats cheap for those have never done any polishing trust me its a dirty hard on the hands job........

now where can i get some chome tyres lol only messin i'm not really a chomosexual

Polishing the whole wheel (s) ..... your taking on a whole **** load of spit n polish there mate .........

I don't know about a clear coat powdercoat ...... but I did a rear seat unit for a guy in carbon. He didn't want it for the carbon effect or the light weight :dunno What he did was powdercoated it with a chrome looking finish ............. it looked very bling.

WAT HE CHROME POWDER COATED HIS WHEELS?

do you think that polish will be any good boyler?
the guy who does em swears by it

am gona go ahead with it as i really dont mind cleaning my bike .i have always kept all my bikes mint to the extreme and dont do wet weather i have my 125 scoot for crap work trips etc :thumbup

Imagine full polished wheels with a set of those 'see through' tyres we've just seen. :eatcorn

it would certainly draw a crowd and the filth might try to pull ya for them tyres cause they aint seen em lol .

I polised my car wheels, big mistake (at first), now before polishing them I lightly rub the marks off with a brillo pad, makes the job 10 times quicker.
Bonus also, now when the wife kerbs the rims, (not me), :biggrin, I just file the kerb marks out, wet and dry the rough marks out, polish, good as new again.
Cant do that with powder coated wheels can yeh.
LEE, TRY A BRILLO PAD BEFORE SPENDING HARD EARNED CASH FIRST MATE.:thumbup

Polished wheels are like having a Supermodel Girlfriend. The idea appeals on many levels but the reality is one of very High maintenance. Get them powder coated in that new chrome look finish.

Not cheap but then you wouldn’t take Cindy Crawford to a Toby Carvery. :D
