hi all i have spent the last two years rebuilding my rsv engine and have finally put back together, and have a stray cable that is from the right hand engine loom and is approc 8 inches in lenght from main loom it is located around batery area but dont know if it goes to b+, ground or starter solenoid as its been along time, i have stripped the insulation back and theres a red cable and some smaller red and blue cables and a green and blue , im guessing this is positive but not sure any help would be much apreciated thanks carl t

Not easy to tell from the pic but it looks like the feed to the starter motor in which case it would go on the solenoid but it should have a rubber cover over the terminal. Stick a meter on it and look for direct continuity between it and the starter motor connection. If it reads 0 ohms or very near you on the right track.
There is an earth coming off the loom around that area so you might be onto something but i don't remember it being that chunky.
Almost certain it's an earth. Definitely not starter motor, it's too short.
I'll nip out and check my track bike 'cos it has seat off at the moment, not to mention alternator cover, stator etc... as I'm waiting for parts to replace the sprag. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!
