Well I've bitten the bullet and decided to go for some Pilot Road 3's on the old Tuoldo. Was going to go with the Sportmarts but for £8 difference thought I'd give the new Michelins a bash.

Anyone got a set on theirs. I know the tread pattern isn't to everyones taste but for the speeds we do and the **** on the roads I ride I need a half decent tyre on mine.

As mentioned earlier to you Bay I had Sportsmarts fitted to mine today. Went for a 180 rear instead of 190 too. Only did a few miles through town on the way home and was obviously taking it very easy on new tyres, but on roundabouts etc the bike did feel more nimble and faster turning. Looking forward to getting them scrubbed in then putting them through their paces properly on the Usk road :thumbup:thumbup

Hi Evlin - how's things? Coming on the Wales ride on 27th March (weather permitting...)?

The Usk Rd is a stunner, I could never get bored of it :biggrin

I always miss the usk road unless I go for a ride down around Chepstow way etc. Still not as good as the a40 up to Llandovery though and then further

They're all good roads.

The Usk Rd seems to be a love it or hate it road. I love it 'cos it's tight and twisty and there's nowhere to really relax, but I have mates who hate it with a passion 'cos they think it's too much hard work. They prefer wide open, sweeping roads.

Nice when dry. Might be able to get out on Sunday when wife gets back to scrub the Tyres in on the road we did the other day.

The Usk Road is pure bliss ... the T is made for that road ... the surface normally takes a helluva battering from the winter tho' ...

I got a set on my tuoldo. only done 500 miles but they seem tae be magic, warming up real fast and giving plenty of feel on ****** damp highland roads.:thumbup

I'm just hoping that the trade off isn't fast wear when the temp picks up and i can push er a bit on dry roads...........

pilot road 2's lasted well enough tho.

Gilo, im ok:thumbup im gunna see bout 27th march ...i like usk road have only been on it with prilly when i brought so only back to chepstow my favorite way, that day was wet, very muddy so i never got to ride it really hopefuly i will soon though
