Hi,

I find with the T and carrying a pillion of 9st that the back sags a lot is the only/best way to remedy this (without buying an ohlins) to raise the ride height? and do I have to raise it and lower it each I take a pillion and then ride solo?

Cheers

Blimey Superstar - that's the second great question you have asked and you have usurped Pikemyth from position as "question master".

Stiffen up the back shock to a point at which it's best for solo and 2-up?

Add a few pounds to the tyres as well for 2-up.

Or find a really really skinny pillion to take out?

To stiffen the rear shock, you need to up the compression damper. The std 2nd Gen T shock has not got this facility. To stop the bike sagging too much with a pillion, you will have to get busy with the spring locknuts.Measure the amount of thread showing before you start so you can return it to standard.Undo the top locknut and then tighten the adjusting nut untill you get the required amount. No idea how much you will need to adjust,it'll be trial and error,.....unless someone on here knows differant.
All a bit of a faff tho.

:cheersI like someone that can dish out abuse and take it back in good spirit. So many people can dish it out but can't take it back. Fair play newelly. Your posts make me laugh

Hurray for newelly, no seriously fair play.

Yes indeed ...

Fair play to all of us.

This is a place for T owners to relax, have fun and indulge in gentle well intentioned ribaldry.

It is not a place for egos, narcissists or prima donnas or any other Turkish snacks.

If you are narcissistic, a ballet dancer or a dodgy foreign meat dish ... please go to a BMW forum.

Well said Newelly, this site makes me laugh with just the right amount o piss take and good info :thumbup
