hi im a newbe here i own a 05 rsv and i thought id just let you know that theres a bloke on ebay selling the sprags for £85 hope this helps some of you out there having this problem.
And while im at it im having a problem with my stator,are they easy to take out as im thinking of having it rewound
 
The BMW sprag is around £55 quid :)

How do you know its your stator ?, but look at "Electrix World" for a replacement , it maybe just as cheap as a re-wind.

Sprag went on my RSVR & that cost £80 to replace....as said previously, keep battery topped up via Optimate & follow starting process (it becomes second nature very quickly) and you should be problem free!
 
hi i had a problem with a flat battery (as it was 4 years old) so i got a new one then that went flat after a few short rides so i replaced the rectifire this improoved the voltage but not enough to solve the problem so it went to the main dealer they said the stator was shoting out and recomendid a rewind
 
has any one got the number for electrix world and is it a hard job to fit the stator

Its not hard , if you have basic mechanical skills and a decent toolkit.

Warm bike up
Take off belly pan
Drain oil
Remove oil tank
Remove crank case cover
Undo the 3 bolts (early models) holding the stator on
Remove stator (make a note of how the cables are routed) get it wrong on reassembely and the sprag gear will tear them apart)
Splice new stator wiring into old wiring (MUST MUST MUST use solder joints here)
Bolt stator into cover (The bolts MUST be threadlocked and torqued correctly)
Place new gasket onto engine Clean both surfaces 1st, I used about 5/6 drops of superglue to hold the gasket in palce)
Bolt crank case cover back on (Do NOT overtighten)
Replace oli tank
Refill with oil
start up
check charging circuit with multimeter

has any one got the number for electrix world and is it a hard job to fit the stator
