been searching lots... to the point im paranoid about any little noise... lol... as it seems to be something that will break eventually... rather than might break if your unlucky !!

basically when i switch my bike off with the key... i hear alittle whirring noise for about 1 sec... is this normal... or something else... or a early sign... it starts fine with no noises !? :dunno

who said that... can anyone else hear those voices ?? :dowhat

I used to be paranoid with mine when i first got her, but now i just ride her and enjoy her.

If something is gonna go wrong, then i'll deal with that as and when it happens, but in the meantime, i'm just loving it whilst its right.

Don't be worried about that little whirring noise when you switch off the bike, it's normal. 2 things kill sprag clutches, week batteries and hamfisted starting techniques. If your bike doesn't start first prod of the starter then there is a fault which needs investigating. If it does start instantly as you've said yours does, then all's well and go ahead and enjoy :thumbup

mine makes a noise when i stall it ,bit like a freely spinning gear/bearing type of noise , did it when new so not worried it must be normal .

I Sh*t myself everytime I press the starter. Mine will catch fire if it ever goes lol

Mine went its not that hard to do any way so dont worry mate just have lots of fun on it and cross that brige if it goes

ooh mine has a rattly clutch as well. it makes a sort of rattle when i knock it into neutral and let out the clutch.

how much punishment can the sprag take? my battery is on the way out and i have no money for a new one, even if it is £28!!! just want to be sure. thanks!!!

They don't like duff/low batts. How much abuse they can take is hard to say. Often depends on how it's abused. Certainly if the bike won't start easily or turns over much slower than normal it's time to stop.

if it goes it will cost you a lot more than £28

ok dude i have just bought a new battery. looked at AF1, $1000 for the sprag?!?!?!?!?! holy hell!!!

cheers!

You can probably get away with around £200 in parts if you do it yourself - it's sometimes even possible to tighten the sprag spring and re-use it, which would just mean a new gasket and oil.

Yes i did that and its fine dealers whant 400sqid for parts and i done it for 40 not bad hay the spring gets weak just cut 20mm out and it its fine

ooh ok thanks for that. the only reason i wouldn't do it myself is because i use it everyday for work and have no second bike (ZZR has run out of MOT) and if i do something wrong i will be getting the bus to work... yay!

The sprag from my falco was that knackered it fell to bits when I took it out,I boght the bike cheap like that & I took the sprag out of a spare engine I had, wouldnt mind getting a spare or am I being paranoid,Im always carefull how I start the falco & the mille
