Which one do people recommend? How do you use one? I dont trust the side stand as it seems a bit flimsy:dunno

Assuming you've got bobbins on the rear swing arm then most rear stands with hooks (not cups) will be OK. You have to hold the bike upright with one hand while you lever up the stand, which some people don't like but you can always take the seat hump off and grab the subframe brace to give you a firm grip. You could also look at an Abba stand which is really useful although a bit more of a fiddle to get the bike on to.
You probably want to change that sidestand - do a search on here, there's lots of info.

Hi, I use an ABBA stand, Great for doing loads of jobs, fits to the swingarm pivot and an adaptor is avaliable to take off the swingarm.

I have the ABBA stand too :thumbup:thumbup well worth the money and a doddle to use.

If your thinking of one of those you should PM Hooked (who does the airbox kits) his "mate" makes something identical to them, or he did do :devious

:stupid

It's good for wedging a sparkplug socket against your rear brake lever overnight, too :thumbup

Well this one gets my vote :thumbup

Feather light, absolutely rigid, adjustable and available from your local MOTRAX stockist for £69.

It's that good I'm thinking of getting another one for the SV to replace the crap tubular it has.

Also available, matching front stand and rear wheel caddy.

I've got an Abba copy (it's a BeeGee-geddit?!?) Cracking piece of kit made by a very nice polite, chap who does frequent this very forum from time to time. No more hassle trying to balance the bike to use a paddock stand.
