Sorry, couple of quick questions about the optimate-just want to make sure of a few things before going away for a while with work. Going to be leaving it at my dads place, have had no previous signs of a week battery (even after a week of not using), but thought it might be a good idea to get am optimate just incase. So, can I just connect it and turn on? Is there a max time that it should be connected for or will it not do any damage if its just left for the time I m away? Was going to fit the permanent loops, but read somewhere that I run the risk of the clocks wiping themselves? Cheers all.

Turn it on , plug it in and thats it m8 ,, easy ,, i have left mine for ages with no problems !!

Good news! Thanks for that! Any problem with starting the bike with it connected?

Thats ok - just want to make sure no one does anything silly while I'm away!

Leave as long as your want, just make sure it's plugged into the bike BEFORE you switch the Optimate on at the plug so the Optimate goes though it's correct cycle from the start. A common mistake is people leave the Optimate on and then plug into the bike. This won't work and won't charge and condition the battery correctly

Thanks. I read that bit of info on another thread here before so will make sure that I do that. Going to miss the bike while away, but on the plus side have booked myself onto a days motocross in malaysia while there. Did it last time and was amazing fun! Especially for 40quid!
