One thought this thread gave me: Is there a thread anywhere advising those new to RSVs what to check for when deciding to buy?

I bought my 2001 at 26k, haven't done any of those mods, and the clock went past 50k a couple of tankfuls ago. Previously a Pirelli man, I favour Dunlops at the moment. The current Roadsmarts have done 6k already and have only just started to square off. Even the battery is only a 'replace once it starts struggling' really. The most important thing is to have it serviced regularly. I do an oil change evry 6 months, then Griff does his full service once every 10-12 months or so.

Stock solenoid is under rated at 50A for the current required to start these beasts :exclamation the replacement ones are 150A plus with the addition of the higher rated battery allows easier starting :thumbup
