A friend of mine had a similar problem on his ZXR the other week. Landed up using an old tooth brush and WD40 to free the pistons off with a piece of wood to act as a spacer in between to allow the pistons to come out for cleaning.

Not heard of WD40 eating seals.....or clubbing them :dunno

I think the problem with WD40 is that it is base part acetone and that eats plastics and rubber.

although saying that over how long it would take to do damage.

After cleaning with WD40, each piston was brushed with brake fluid before going back in.

Meths is apparently a good cleaner for brake pistons, followed by brushing with brake fluid. Didn't have any meths to hand so WD40 it was.

Cheers guys, well i've stripped the front, swapped discs, cleaned both wheel surface and discs surface, cleaned and lubed pistons (actually found some brake piston grease in the garage!!) and put back together. Seems better now so think a good couiple of runs well settle things down. Ordered some SBS pads yesterday so will bleed brakes and fit new pads and fingers crossed will stop like Hugh Grant on Hollywood boulevard again:devious!!!!

Thanks for all the help as usual guys...............:thumbup
