Same thing happened to me. Cost £250 to fix - no warranty. Kais replaced the axle bottom, had to be delivered from Ohlins direct:puke

Rawly, this is what happens when the pinch bolts are over tightened. Hope they are ok, check carefully

thanks for posting this up lads , looks like i got away with it :thumbup. checked them both tonight , look ok and tightened back to correct torque .

make you wonder about wheelies though good point fox !!! not that i'm any good at them

mine went after the crash. More to do with tightening pressure than owt else though.
 
The guys with earlier ohlins need to be the most careful. they had 8mm holes for the bolts whereas later ones were 6mm so less material removed. Radial braked bikes also have a 2mm more material thickness around the spindle.

90% of the breaks are avoidable so be careful and i always prompt a tyre fitter if they touch it as to how tight to do the pinch bolts rather than leave it to chance.
