Noticed my front left fork bottom was cracked due to the previous numpty overtightening the clamp bolts.

Just cost me over £300 quid to get the fork bottom changed and new seals and oil in both by Kais Suspension, Atherton.

12 Nm's is the correct torque.

Lol yes actually. But just spoke to him and he said he actually did them to 17 and they didnt feel happy going higher. Phew! He`s gonna readjust them when we do the sprocket ;)

Hope it will be OK. Did you see the thread theruck was referring to. It seems quite a design weak point. Have you checked yours carefully, the cracks in the photos look very small?

Rob :)

I couldnt even see the crack on that pic! If mine were to be split that would right of the year! Things are beyond tight!!

It's a f@cker isn't it. I didn't stop swearing for a week when I noticed mine. At least you end up with nicely serviced forks at the end of it. Small consolation though.

Glad you got it sorted.

Only had the bike since november, new speed sensor, new battery, new starter solenoid, back brake bled again, still not working. What's next? I Wish I hadn't bought it now and kept my TL1000R. The TL was quicker at the bottom and mid range revs also. I am rather disappointed with it. I will part ex it soon no doubt to an RC8R KTM. It has to be a V Twin.
