Now thats a Close Shave

There is no answer. However I go down the minimising risks route & 90% of the time I am v sensible, also having two kids helps me put things into perspective also.

I'm also **** scared of losing my licence as being a petrolhead that would be ******* the end.

Yep me too. I'm not a risk taker, but I am very competetive, the few times I've ridden like a proper tool have been when I'm chasing someone faster than me determined not to loose face. I should probably grow up.

Yes you should!

Last weekend in the rain following bay. At one point I was so wet & miserable I really did not care where he was, I slowed right down and knew eventually he'd slow etc.

However in the dry yes by nature I am also v competitive but I know my limits. I'm not the quickest by any stretch & I won't take too many risks so if someone leaves me I'll let them go. Think that comes with age!

I have watched the clip a few times and to be honest I have almost been in this position myself, either due to a lack of focus or riding too fast on a road I dont know. I wouldn't have posted it mind cos I aint a ****, it just shows that experience counts for a lot of our riding when on the roads

This happens all the time , people playing catch up and riding beyond their own abilities , we have all done it im sure ..... but now as i get older and somone is riding faster than me i just say .... carry on ..... nah **** it , down 3 gears and let her avvvv it , i hate losing . I dont class myself as a slow rider but i never push it too hard on the road because i want to get home in one piece at the end of the day !
As Dave said earlier , why didnt the bloke just lean the bugger over rather than grabbing a load of front brake , **** !

Losing? I think that's why some people get into trouble mate.

If someone's willing to risk everything (for what?), or they are genuinely quicker then **** let em go!!

It's not losing, it's not a race, it could be losing your life/legs/livelihood though?

You sure as hell weren't slow on the Bampton road mate! I was pushing harder than I really wanted on a road I didn't know, and in the wet with shitloads of gravel everywhere, had a fair few lairy rear tyre slides, but damned if I'd let you get away :lol

Blokes eh? Maybe the fairer *** have a point when they say we never grow up. Suits me :thumbup

Theres always people faster than we are out there , i dont care if they are , i would let them carry on and ride at my own pace . i dont need to prove whos got the biggest balls because i would win cause mine are massive !!!!!
