Now thats a Close Shave

Yer right there bay, it's easy to criticise someone when yer have the experience and the knowledge that it brings. Not all of us are gifted with a talent that doesn't require both the above from the start. I hope the dude learns from his experience on the vid just how close he came to never going home again. If yer want to play wae the fast boys do it on a track.

A - you can speak English!!!!!!!!!! :yes:lol

r, that's the way it is for me with everything I've done and everything I'll do, I've nae talent at all but I work at it constantly.

I forgot one time I managed to roll a *** at a set of lights and light it wae ma gloves back on afore they changed.

Not somethin I'm particularly proud of.

Also had a phone conversation on rush hour Kingston Bridge M8 while moving at 5mph on ma bike. (hand held wae caberg lid).

Oh feck I'm doomed.

On the maiden anglo fudfest we were wishing you could still roll a *** on the bike :lol

it's the classic "***** on a sports bike moment"...all he had to do was push the inside bar a tad and lean the ****** over, it WILL go round !!

This sort of talk kills people.

He made a bad judgement and lived to tell.
He can either learn from it or risk a second attempt

hec, there are peeps then there are peeps.

Hope yer can make the saturday ff2, would like to meet yer mucker.

Better still if yer can make it this saturday to ayr.

I hear yer probs and feel fir yer.

welly, yer like seein and killin life mucker.

A think they used to do somethin similar in the us wae the older school kids. Road arsesh or the like.

Life is precious, it takes a lot of effort to get yer here and even more to make it as good as possible.

It's yer duty to make sure yer make it lasts and pass it on.

***** according to the Fudmeister.

I watched the videos but it doesn't really make me feel like getting on my bike on the weekend and riding it now though. **** they were very graphic

Yes they were. However 1st one no kit whatsoever & hit a pole at speed.

2nd helmet nothing else.

3rd v similar to original thread near miss vid but worse - he hit.

We all know that if you get it wrong it's going to hurt. Which is why the vast majority of us wear the full gear. Even when it's ******* boiling etc. Because it might happen to all of us.

Be safe peeps :)

S, Be safe peeps.

Come home, but not in an effin box.

Gee whizz Aldo...rolled a *** wae yer gloves on. I can barely hud the fooking key o the bike wae mi gloves on. Mind you I do weer massive gloves awe year roon. Well when I'm out on the bike that is and nae fin I'm sitting watching tv or something.

Watched New's vids while munchin me breakfast. Not pleasant at all but didn't put me off my toast.

Bit of a sad reflection of how immune we've become to that kind of ****.

Well, not saying that its going to help but I'm going to invest in New Boots, Back protector and New set of gloves when I get paid next Tuesday. Won't help with the 3rd Crash but might help with the other 2. How fast were those bots going in the 1st vid on that sportsbike to have no faces left though and how young was he when they showed the driving licence.

cheers welly, just what i needed whilst munching on a pack of my favourite bacon discos.

1 question, if you ever were so unfortunate to be on the scene of somut like that would you whip out your video camera and film it.

Pmin. I`ve worked in places where they do this and then flash the pix all round the web. I`ve seen people laugh at pictures of a guy flattened by a bus. There was a safety meeting one time when a video of the Piper Alpha blowing up a and folk chuckled. To some people life is cheap and death is a day in day out way of life. Was in a truck one time and drove up to this accident. there was a guy lying in the middle of the road with half his head caved in. I asked the driver if we should stop to help. His reply was something like `can`t help him` and he drove round the side of the road and carried on. No interest to see if the other guy had a phone to call for help etc.

Interesting comments about how fast people drive. Ever wondered how fast is `too fast`? We should all drive at speeds that we are comfy with....right! However on a bike, even 30mph can be too fast. I spent 2 weeks in hospital one time after a guy pulled out on me. Eight weeks in plaster another time due to a 60 mph spill. My nephew has been walking with sticks for the last 20 years after coming off at around 25 to 30 mph. We know the risks and true to kit ourselves out with decent gear and even take extra training etc. However, there`s no getting away from the fact that we take massive risks every time we go out on the road on our pride and joy. Do we learn from vids like these, hmmm probably not as we will soon be out riding to our `comfortable` limits. Those limits might be less than we think.

One might have been Ukranian but the other was definitely Welsh. Heres the official story. Drink seems to have been the overiding factor, along with speed. Happened in 2009 so the Welsh boy being born in 1986 was 23. What a waste.

In the early morning of 22nd May 2009 two Ukrainian men were killed at the scene when their motorbike crashed in front of the Big C shopping centre in North Pattaya.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Suppachai Puikeawkum was notified at 6 :00 am and a police and Sawang Boriboon Rescue team were dispatched to the scene of the accident. On Pattaya Second Road in front of Big C police found the bodies of Mr. Matthien Jenkin, aged around 35, who was lying in the middle of the road and Mr. Jonathan Alex Terrence, aged around 25, who was on the footpath. Both men had extensive surface wounds and had received multiple injuries including broken legs, arms and skull. Their clothes were torn and two broken helmets were found nearby. A badly damaged black and orange Honda CBR motorbike, no 151 Chonburi, was found 100 meters away from the bodies.

Police questioned eye witnesses including some motorbike taxi drivers who said the two men were speeding on their bike heading from the Tops supermarket towards the Dolphin Roundabout. They seemed to be drunk and treating the road as a race track. As they were passing Big C the driver lost control and ran into the footpath, hit a road sign, bounced off of another sign in front of Big C and then flew into the air and dropped onto the road, throwing the two men to the ground, and causing them fatal injuries.

you missunderstand me Hec, i'm not saying he should ride faster or anything, just saying that rather than sit the bike up and risk running head on into an oncoming car he should simply lean the thing over a bit more. Its really basic stuff that people should know before they start filming themselves chasing their mates !!

The main problem (I'm talking UK here but I'm sure it applies world-wide) is that the training you get to pass your test and get a bike licence is basic as hell. It means you have the basic skills needed to control a bike, but it does absolutely nothing in terms of teaching you high speed control, and confidence, and how to corner properly and, for example, shove on the inside bar to tighten your line if needs be.

Most of us here have I guess learnt all this through experience and had plenty of close shaves of our own, also I expect we've all known people who paid the ultimate price on a bike, I have.

What's the answer? **** knows. Bikes are dangerous, treat them with proper respect. But also rag the **** off them 'cos that's what it's all about. Contradictory or what.
