Right lads, I remember reading a thread from somebody late last year about the possibility of getting Sir Griff to the northwest for one of his service and maintenance sessions. Well, I've been having a chat with the man and with taking his other work commitments into account he's very kindly offered to come up to spooksville sometime in the first week in March, it will be weekdays though. If any of you dudes out there fancy your bikes being fettled by the man himself throw a post up with what work you would like him to do. Griff is going to monitor the thread to see how best to cover the jobs depending on the interest shown. We can then confirm dates, whether one, two or three days, nearer the time.

By the way just to give you some idea of where it will be, I'm in south Liverpool not far from John Lennon airport.

Griff do u fit Datatool Digi gear indicators as i only live a couple of mls from Dave & could drop round when doin dave,s :devious
 
Hello Ken M8 :thumbup, Yeah if Dave's going to arrange a visit from Griff then no worries M8. Griff and I have been trying to get something sorted for the Northwest owners for a while but decided it was going to be best to leave it until the new year. He did mention he had a few big projects on the go so that's why he plumped for the first week in March. I know there was a couple of guys in the Manchester area who were trying to get a visit sorted but at the time the "host" was moving house so couldn't go any further with the plans. If there's not that much interest shown for the visit to my place then maybe Griff might throw some other idea in to the mix, maybe here then up to Dave's, :dunno depending on when Dave's after his services. Anyway as I've said if any of you "northeners" want to travel down and spend the day down here you'll be more than welcome. There's a double garage so plenty of space for a few apes. I've already started stocking up on the jaffa cakes and jammy rings.

gonna get the man to do the magic in early april prob ,i need to get it done here cause the engine needs to be cold as its the big service . thanks for the offer of your place though mate.

Spooky hope you don't find this strange but I would like to pop down an say hi to everyone and learn a little more about these bikes from people who know what's what and also get the bike looked over? Am only over the bridge in Runcorn. I joined the site at Christmas time when I picked up my mille :inlove. Just waiting for March time so I can tax it and get out for the first time

P.S I can bring some jammy dodgers too :biggrin
 
Midex, no problem at all M8 :thumbup. Keep an eye on the thread so you know when we confirm dates. Come on over the dreaded bridge and have a yarn anytime M8. There's no better person than Griff if you need to know anything on these machines, jesus he's just got back from Spain spannering for a race team, jammy *******! If you do require any work done on yours, post it up on here for him so he can work out his itinerary or just come across for a chat.

Griffster u r on mate for fitting my Digi gear indicator ,,, i work with Dave and will pop round to c u & get the Digi done whilst u r servicing Dave ,,,,
( sorry servicing Dave,s bike ) ,,,,, i,LL BE THE BREW ***** FOR THE DAY ,,,,,,,,, will be nice to see the :hail MASTER at his craft :thumbup
 
Can anyone join the party? Don't think I can afford to get the service done on mine just yet but I fancy turning up and chewing the fat.

Be good to meet some of the guys and put faces to names. I could also supply some jaffa cakes or jammy dodgers etc if needed.:thumbup

I'll be flying out of JLA in a few weeks,leaving the car at Lenox Farm parkand fly Hale Village, anywhere near you?

I would be interested - my shims need checking - I live near Telford but originate [years ago] in South Liverpool -Could bring the bike [2000 rsvr] on a trailer so it is cold - still got mates in the area
 
Phill, Just a thought, why not ride up leave the bike here (secure garage) stay at a mates or cheapy travel lodge overnight and get your shims done next morning. The other thing though Telford is not that far from Griffs place in Tamworth, but if you want to come up here and catch up with a few mates at the same time no problem.

Yeah bud, really want them done so i'll be there!! As for the oil dude, I'll take a couple off you when I'm down bud........strap them on somehow!!!:thumbup
