Drumnadrochit ..

and they have a yellow submarine cos ??

Do a Google search on Nessie, all will be revealed, beter still get yerself up there - the roads are fantastic.

Submarine hunting is a bit less successfull tho!

"Do a Google search on Nessie"

like i,m gonna spend me time lookin fer a scottish wormy thing that no ****** else can find !!

OK, I will help you a bit, have a quick look on the Nessie site
- the evidence page would suggest lots of people have seen - errrm something!

Alas, I think you may be missing the point ;-)

The best biking weekend I've had. The roads were amazing. Nice to meet the new guys and past fudfesters alike. 180, Gollum, you guys need to get your T's up here. I'll do it again with you no problem.

Cheers to Rico, Aldo, Slomo , Toby69 and slomo's mate Callum.:thumbup

Fans FFIV ?

Fookin fantastic Fudfest 111.

A wee bit wet yesterday but only for short burst, the roads were as gadgie said amazing.

A got drowned fae the Drumochter Pass all the way hame, even had an inch deep puddle at the bottom of ma back pack.

Great to meet the new guys and as nobpb said when's the next one. :thumbup :cheers

Well that wiz somethin !

An absolute crackin weekend as far as ahm concerned ...fantastic roads, dry (mostly) and the top quality company o like minded loons up fur a serious rasp! Excellent:thumbup

So thanks muckers fur a great weekend:thumbup

So heres the match report ....

Rico,SloMo, NPB, and Toby69 an SloMos future brother in Law Callum (RSV-R) all met up at Huntly ready tae tootle tae Aviemore tae meet wi the Fud meister Aldo

....SLoMo wiz late as usual!
IMG-20110924-01227.jpg

A mile oot frae Granton on Spey SloMo has a major interface wi a pheasant at aboot 80 odd, wi the blootered feathery freak stottin richt in front o Ricos front wheel. Knocked Slomos right mirror richt round it did. The pheasant didnae look too pleased either.

Brekkie at Cafe Bleu in Aviemore once sorted Slomos loose mirror then we wir oan oor way tae Spean Bridge via Loch Laggan at a tasty lick despite it bein a bit damp. Which led tae the next animal casuality o the day, the rare an endangered Scottish Red Squirrel. Nae sure if it def wiz one o us who got it but it wiz awfy fresh lookin when ah passed it...

Any way... from Spean Brig we ran up the side o Loch Ness tae Drumnadrochit......

Which ones the monster?

IMG-20110924-01228.jpg

After that we say Cheerio tae Toby (Cheers for makin the effort loon, appreciated) then its off up ower the hill oan a wee back route tae Beaully tae pick up oan the Ullapool road, once we took the right turnin!

Another rapid rasp and we wir there... wi one o the best fish suppers for lunch, sittin in the lovely sunshine...richt up tae the point the monsoon arrived ! Its bollocks ye get 4 seasons in one day in Scotland, its 4 in one hour!

So well ballasted doon wi chips and battered deep fried products steeped in Irn Bru we were off up the real North West wild country......absolutely stunnin wi clear skys and empty roads which made for some o the best ridin yet.......

They say ye cannae go wrong travelin up an doon the North West as theres only the one road. Well ....jist ask a FudFester tae naviggate an he,ll prove that hypothesis wrong.......

......So after a wee 22 mile detour endin in LochInver ( a dead end by the way) we were back oan track up North.

The bit up roond the extreme top corner wiz a wee bit o a culture change as its awe single track all the way tae Tongue......particularly wi SloMo leadin as he gives way tae every feckin sheep waitin tae cross the road.

Once again SloMos animal magnetism showed when the only Highland coo in Durness decided tae step oot intae the road in front o him. Nae harm doon tho as his lightenin reactions "steered " him oota trouble.

After Tongue, right at the very top o Scotland, the blast doon intae Thurso and oor supper was mega quick and oan some of the most fantastic bit o road in the country. Ower 35 miles o open road, wi clear view fast bends gave a uninterrupted seriously fast blast, wi barely a car in sight. Awesome stuff an wiz a great chnace tae really stretch yersel an the bike.

Stopped in the Royal Hotel Thurso, a definite "had better days" sort o place but was cheap an clean wi good secure parkin for the bikes. Full o coach tour coffin dodgers tho.

Scooped a few refreshments as you do, bolstered wi a steak pie n a burger sort o supper.

After the officiall photoshoot it wiz anither fast rasp doon tae Wick then onwards South tae Inverness. Again some really quick stuff wi some mega combinations o bends tae git rid o yer chicken strips! an still hardly a car oan the go.

We were hopin tae be doon in time tae catch the MAG run at 1 pm but missed it by aboot 1/2 hour. So we jist stopped fur a coffee an a blether aboot the day instead.

Then it wiz a short commute doon the A9 where we said Adios tae Aldo as the rest o us headed East back via Granton on Spey then oan familiar roads back tae hame.

All in all a ******* brilliant run!

The rest o u gadgies oot there have got tae do it at least once in yer bikin lives.

Man..whit a year its been:thumbup

great post rico, good time had by all and good roads by the sound of it

happy days. :thumbup:thumbup

I'll lay doon the aplinestar glove.....if onybody wants ti do that again....I do it with them (if I'm hame). Some o the roads were a wee bittie moist, but nothing to worry aboot. If I could have changed one thing it would be have been starting on the morgans and coke earlier. I really can't say which bit o road was best....there was so much of it. As Rico said, you've got to do this run sometime in yer biking lives.

Tobymin. sorry we missed the run. We did try ti mak it.

Receipto, what was your average speed again over the two days?
