Non-starting gen1?

Get an optimate fella. I've started my bike with my optimate on and its not ruined it. Does a few flashy things with the lights and thats about it. If you look you can get them for decent prices. Had mine for a bargain price of £39 quid or thereabouts.

No power in the shed matey - hence the Solariser. As long as I remember not to fry it it should be fine!

fitted a solariser to my mates camper van leisure battery and it ****** that one up too !
seems like it drained more than it charged

Really? Hmm I was hoping it would do the job. My own fault I fried the last one by starting the bike with it still connected. It clearly states not to do that.

we had problems with trackers draining the batterys excessivly and leaving owners stuck with flat batterys half of them had no available power for a charger
so we got some solar chargers and still had problems with them.
when we tested the charger outputs they were only sticking out 6-7 volts so they wernt actualy charging the batterys
the only ones that worned half decenly were the realy expensive ones and they wernt brilliant

Fair enough. Going to have to fork out to get power in me shed then. Not cheap tho :(

my dad had same problem with his garage and got quoted a small fortune to put some in
so he bought a long extension lead from b&q with a protection circuit built in and its been just fine for years

I was going to suggest a power lead. Get some tubing and bury it under the ground if yo can as well.

Well new solariser came & did nothing as Charley said above! Bought an Optimate, took the battery out and charged it fully overnight.

Popped it in earlier started instantly so went for a ride no probs.

This thing about 14v batteries above is that possible even? I have a Yuasa14 which is 12v & 12 a/hr?

Yes mate,a healthy 12v battery should read around 13-14v on a dc voltmeter.
Most modern motorcycle batteries are 6 cell,2.2v per cell,=13.2v,.....give or take a volt.

Fully charged using Optimate & according to the bike it was at 11.9v. It's a newish battery also?

Once running bikes volt reading was 13.5ish which I think is correct is it not?

Only 11.9v on the Optimate?Suprised at that.Keep yer eye on it,...might be a weak battery. Some of these gel batteries are *****,...even the 'named' ones like Yuasa.I had two replaced under warrenty on my Ducati 999.
