Me an my mate Neil went up tae see the big yin oan his tracky doofer at Knocky last nite.180 nipped in tae. Ah must admit ah wis a bit sceptical aboot the whole trackday on the T thing cos ah wid aye worry aboot binnin the bike. Hooever, ah kin noo say that it looks a richt hoot canin the T roond a track wi nae trees, livestock or myopic fannies lookin tae gie ye yer first hurl in a wheelchair. Nae fast, intermediate or slow group ****-jist get oot there(efter the SAFETY chat) an gie it some min. Oh aye,an nae polis ***** either. Cue the big yin's video oan the TUBE.:thumbup

Cheers G min, and 180 and neil for coming past.
Was a real blast, just gotta keep a sort o sensible heed on and its all good fun.
Wisnae the quickest there but defo not the slowest either, back tyre shredded to the edge on RH side so I wasne gonna be going much faster roond the bends.
Just gotta work on the missed gears up the start/finish straight, had a recht red face under me helmet.
Now then wander when the next one is.......................
Some film may well be on utube soon, just gotta edit oot any wobbly bits, missed gears, folk passing............................

That soons a richt blast. I've fancied deeing a trackday for a while, jist nae sure what it entails. Nmin, maybe we can go doon the gither next time.

G...ony word on the suspension set up?

Stopped off at Skinners in Dundee for a wee look at the new T on the way home, demo bike was there..........so I left, if I had gone oot on it I would be even poorer and no way would I take that roon a track at that price.
So aye slomo its a buzz on a track, dunno if I will do another this year or not, will give you a shout if I do......................maybe a plan for a Fudfest IIII or IV, doon to knocky, a few T's blastin roon then a wee bevvy after to talk ***** aboot how fast we where.

nobpb that sounds a plan, Fudtrackfest. Leave it oany later in the year and you will need a canoe up at knockhill

I`ve heard it said , by Niall Mackenzie I think, that if you can`t see the shed at Knockhill its raining and if you can see the shed its going to rain! :lol

Thats aboot right the times I have been doon watchin racin. I was lucky last night, was black clouds all around but the rain stayed off for time on track, started rainin aboot 20 mins after we finished.

So back tyre looked like this after trackday. A guy, ex racer said that looks like "its been worked hard". Just wandering if he meant coz suspension was not right and causing this or that it was coz he thought I had been going quick, I wish.
My thoughts are that I suspect the track is more grippy than the road and causes this, any thoughts ?

Aye slomo min,ah gied it a wee bitty mair rebound bit the ****** widnae hud a line,so ah wound it back past the original settin by twa clicks an it 's like a different bike. Nae kiddin ah hae 50% mair confidence in it an ah'm gaun harder doon the quarry road than afore-that's the acid test. 6 mile o heaven min. closest thing tae Mugello roond here. Nae tried it in the wet yet but ah'm sure it'll be better. A word ay warnin fur Knockhill-thurs a 102 db limit fur cans-dinnae ken hoo stringent they ur enforcin it but it wid be pish tae turn up an get knocked back. Rico widnae get intae Fife wi they ****** Mivvs oan!

ah fair fancy a bit o this action as weel....its a fair auld roond trip doon n back tho, particularly oan a school nicht!

Could be a bit of both but it wouldn`t look like that at the edge if ya hadn`t been pushing on a bit!!!!! Trackdays are better than drugs are they not!?? When was the last time you washed ya wheels!?

Tyre looks better thun ma puss first thing NPB min. That wear is jist bings ay laps oan the wan side ay the tyre min-tae be expected. Any idea hoo many laps ye did?

shaun.m,
Cheek min, washed em afore I went doon. had a wee bit o rain on way doon, its aboot 150 miles, then roon track, so thats my excuse.

Rico,

Aye dina fancy goin doon, doin the track and back in an evenin, me old bones would give up. I stayed doon there after the fun was had.

Ah wis quite impressed wi yer commitment gaun doon the main straight NPB min. Ah thocht ye were brakin well late intae the right hoander. Nae wonder the tyre's aboot shagged. Goat tae admit had a wee pang o desire fur that super duke an the RC8R thit were hoonin wi ye. Braw rorty pipes. Ah widnae cheat oan Lucifer tho. Ah'm thinkin thurs a healthy bit o interest in the idea o gettin the Fuds the gither fur a tracknite bit wid be a logistical nightmare tryin tae get a date thit wid suit abdy. It wid hae tae part o a Fudfest ah think so at least if abdy couldna mak the track thing at least we kid a get tae spy wan anither an get pished/pisstake/arrested etc.

G min,

Think it was my only claim to fame last night, reckon I was one o the late brakers, pity it was a no go for nippin up inside o folk, would have had a heap more passes, mind u maybe why I messed up the hairpin a few times, no settled into the bend, I will learn lol

Steady min, even seasoned racin campaigners **** the hairpin up at Knocky. Well known fur bein difficult tae get entry speed/apex correct. Ye looked jist as guid as o **** else oot there min an thur were plenty nippers oot tae. Cubes n experience-thurs nae substitute min.

slayer, I've been there plenty and it dosenae matter when yer go yer always need a canoe or a rib or a cruise liner.

Or wan O rico's rigs.

Just thinkin aboot the 102 db noise limit at Knocky, it was never mentioned at the briefing and no sign o anybody who was remotly interested in noise, nice one Knocky, put it on website to keep cooncil happy but ignore it to let the loons , and lassies, play.
