after few weeks trying to sell my tuono factory, I get it away yesterday, guy goes out for a spin in evening and the service light comes on and it goes onto safe mode, hes tried resetting code, and it just keeps doing it, he is understandably not pleased, do trying to sort something out via dealer in Falkirk having a look at it, cant believe it, anybody ANY thoughts on what it might be??

What fault codes is it showing?

I don't know mate, he just said it was saying service needed, that he'd looked up the codes, probably on here(!) but it keeps going onto safe mode, hopefully a sensor or something??

surely the service icon is the spanner thingy... doesnt go into safe mode fer that..

As above, check the battery and charging system.

There must be fault code there,...is the new owner going through the correct procedure to find them and delete them?

yeh not sure, hopefully the official dealer will pick it up quickly, surely cant be that serious, just keep seeing some horror stories on net of dealers unable to diagnose, worst comes to worst I will take it back and sort it myself, 40 years biking, sold dozens of bikes, never had this happen, totally pissed off, thanks for comments and advice tho guys

TBH, it doesn't sound like the buyer knows what he's doing. If he's using 13432 he should see/find the fault codes. This will tell you what the problem is. The service light used to come on on mime, but it didn't go into safe mode.

bike now been with aprilia dealer in Falkirk for two days, apparently has a "fuelling problem" but as yet they cant find the fault, gawd!

heres quote from latest text from buyer what do u think? "they said all the machine showed was a fuelling problem, no specifics, so they (ie main dealer) said they contacted aprilia who advised that the aftermarket alarm would cause problems and it appears it is linked ino the fuelling power as the fuelling fuse was missing as the alarm has its own power, have disconnected it and reinstalled a fuse, awaiting test run"

thought i would update this thread, the problem appears to have been alarm right enough, it has been disconnected and bike now running ok, my query is why it suddenly appeared if it never had the fuelling fuse in at all? i suppose if it was a five year old alarm, it was a problem waiting to happpen, just sods law that it chose to do it when it did. dave

Time and Time again I read or hear, Do not fit an alarm to these machines as they end up giving Grief !!!!:dunno

Glad yer sorted mucker.

I'm with snowman on the alarm, read of plenty problems that can arise with them fitted.

Glad its sorted....

Hats off to ya... Plenty would, but not everyone would offer to take it back and sort it... :thumbup
