:thumbup Welcome Spencer . There have been some problems but as far as 03 or the new 05 modles what body style do you like . I have a 02 rsvr and a 07 rsvr and love them both . just make sure your updates like the swing arm was changed over on the 04 it was a recall but other then that there is alot of post on here to get you thruogh any issue the guys on here are top notch and you won't go wrong with any modle you chose all great bikes as long as they have been taken care of. Welcome and enjoy :biggrin

my odometer has reset twice so is low mileage but bike doesn't look low mileage:roll

Hi spencer and welcome to the forum :thumbup

Do a search on the "brown connector" that can be an issue if left unchecked. All bike have problems, some more than others. I've been lucky with mine, as many others have too :doug

As with anything, you only read of the problems people have on forums, but theres some great guy's on here who know their stuff :thumbup

hi spencer
dont worry about all that nonsense, buy an optimate for the bike, then just ride and enjoy had mine a week sounds great, top ride, and looks very nice:doug

The ealiest production bikes of the newer style model RSVR 1000 and Factory from 2003.5 and some early 2004 models did suffer from the mileometers resetting to 00000 if the battery was removed, however this was cured on later 2004 build onwards models. The 2005 onwards bikes are fine. Also 2003.5 and 2004 bikes needed the swinging arm replacing due to possible cracking. This was a worldwide Factory recall and is carried out free of charge by Aprilia dealers. Make sure this has been done. Do a search on this forum for more info.

If you can stretch your budget to a 2006 RSVR onwards model, then these are better with ohlins front forks, revised engine internals and bodywork and a host of other detail changes.

At the end of the day find a nice mint pampered one that's been kept inside and by an owner who knows about these bikes. There are lots out there, just take you time to find the right one.

Happy hunting
