Dubai
Ok so I have a question and from what I've already read on this forum you people will give me a straight answer at least :thumbup

I'm an English expat living in Dubai and have been now for 14 years, been riding bikes for over 40 years. Ex road racer..too old and too many offs so calmed down a little now. Had them all R1/ Zx10 / blackbird / FJ / fireblade etc (except for Suzuki and of course the Italian twins). Suzuki will never be mentioned again:no
I've been riding the Yamaha FZ1 for the past 2 years and need a change, seen a Tuono v2 2008 for sale at the right price. What can I say about the Italians? they make a good looking bike for sure :thumbup but I know very little else :dunno
The bike has done about 10,000 miles and seems in great condition BTW this one is orange :yes
From a straight 4 to a vtwin isn't going to be easy but I can cope with that, now the question is this - what about 100 miles a day every day round trip in 45 Deg C, will it cope with that.
Your HONEST :thumbup opinion on this an anything you can add, is appreciated :thumbup:thumbup:thumbup

Greetings Ben.
The T is quite a comfortable bike and many have toured on them. I think you'd be ok on the bike, but only you will know for sure when/if you get the bike. I've had loads of in-line 4's before I got my T and loved it, only sold it after 4 yrs as it wasn't that good for a pillion.

greetings and salutations Ben nice intro :thumbup
100 miles a day on the Tuono will not be a problem and I am pretty sure you will want to try and extend that due to the grin factor supplied by the T :yes
As for the 45 degree heat its not something we are used to over here but there are some members who live in sunnier climes and they do not report any problems :drool
did you get the owners manual ?

Well I bought it :)

The Yamaha FZ1 has already gone............
I now realise I wasted so many years messing about with inline 4s when the V2 is such a better machine...............I cant fault it ........I was worried about the overheating but ...The ride to work this morning (50 Kilometres) air temp 45Deg C, the bike temp stayed a steady 80 Deg C, when I then came into traffic, I imagined that would be when I got problems, not so... Stuck at traffic lights for 3 minutes in-between 4X4s the V2 never raised its temp above 100 Deg C . The FZ1 would sit around 103 Deg in the same situation!

Perfect............... bike pulls off , turns, stops without fault. rear break is a bit limp but with engine stopping power like this who needs brakes Ha ha .
Cant wait for the ride home:thumbup
