You guys obviously are unaware that if you change from a
Metzeler to pirelli your just putting the same tyre on just re-branded, pirelli own metzeler and the tread is identical.

I do believe you can or could say the rennsport was on the same conveyor belt as the corsa

Guys - seriously lets never talk tyres again.........dunlop sportsmart all the way!!!!! The only tyre to have recieved 5 stars by bike, fastbike and mcn. I have had mine on for nearly 3000 miles and still looking good. I have ridden track days, fast road and wet cold roads......they are simply the best!

They cannot be beaten so lets not pontificate because until you have put a set of these on you have no comparison.

Mine had pilot 2s when I bought her and the rear lasted about 4,500-Miles of hard riding & touring. Never felt right though despite putting an Olins rear shock on but when I put the corsa 3s on it was a revelation, just how I wanted her to feel. My rear lasted 4,000-Miles in a summer of bliss in south Wales. The center is well beyond the legal limit as I did a lot of to-and-throwing between Essex, Suffolk & Wales.

been looking to tyres, but being up in cumbria with no competition - being bent over and charged a fortune for tyres to loose wheels. Plenty of deals int net but nowhere round here fits without supplying. £250 for old D209's or £280 for the sportmax - fed up of being ripped off.

I have now put a set of Pirelli Corsa 3s on. They feel better than the Metzeler Rennsports but that maybe just because they are new and the Metzelers were totally fooked. Hope I get better mileage !

Just like to add to the comments here.
Got 2800 out of the original Rennsports. Not bad says the tyre man.
So I went for the Dunlop Roadsmarts, as Troytheboy said, and the trye mans 1st choice was the same.
£211 fitted to loose wheels.
So far 300 miles and no complaints yet. Warmed up well and scrubbed in on a fast rough road.

I replaced origional equipment Dunlop sportsmart Qualifier RR's after 1900miles. Included 600 running in. Replaced with Dunlop Roadsmarts as wanted something harder for trip to Assen, seem to be wearing pretty well & certainly within my rider ability . I will probably replace with Dunlop Sportsmart when current is worn. However when I need to replace the pair I may consider Pirelli Roadangels as I've had good reports on them. grippy too.

Once when I had a ZX9R I read all the MCN reviews & prompty renewed my rear with a Metzler with their recomendation. Imagine my suprise when exiting a roundabout nearly loosing the rear end to find after examination I was down to canvass after 600miles. went on to BT20's 21's after that they were pretty good.
Have had pilots which are also hard wearing & grippy.
