Hey there fella's am putting a 15 tooth on the front and need new rear rubber..
Was thinking Michelin Pilot Power 2CT..
Any feed back appreciated my Pirelli is shagged after 4500 klms, dont know anyone who has tried the dual compound tyres yet.. cheers Towie

You'll enjoy the lower gearing. Think about going up a couple of teeth on the back too. Unless you really need to be able to hit 280 you'll appreciate the excellent low down torque improvement.

I've heard good things about the 2CTs. A mate of mine on a '06 T used them and had nothing but praise for them. I'm thinking of going for a harder compound after killing a Pilot Power from too much commuting, maybe the Pilot Road 2.

Thanks for that one my mate has a MT01 with the Pilot Road2 on it. The tyre has done 11,000 klms back and forth Port Douglas and Brisbane, its about done now but hows that milage?
He doesn't exactly hang around in the hills either and MT01 puts done some serious ponnies. I dont do any commuting so am thinking the softer shoulders just for fun..

Thanks Doc wot r u running on & how r they lastin?

The Tuono came with conti sport attacks, don't really like them distinct lack of feel and the rear has let go twice. The Tl 1000 I have just got rid of for the T had pirelli road 2's on and they are the best tyre I have ever ridden in the wet and felt really good. I think though my next ones for the T will be pilot power 2's as they seem to be doing the miles according to some.

Thanks Doc i have Pilot Powers going on the bike 2moro with the 15 teethy front.. will let you know in a few days.... forcast is rain so im not too happy about running new rubber tin the wet stuff... cheers

Mine came with Metzler Rennsport - never heard of 'em. But as I've only just done 100 miles can't really say. Any one else using or used these?

Yes Doc the 2CT's will be very interesting to see how they wear and feel at different lean angles.... im excited
Wacker the Rennsorts are good and very popular overseas i know a few folk who have had them and rated them well so go for the lick o ya life they shouldnt let you down. Dont know how they wear though .....

Wacker, the rennsports are super sticky but you will be lucky for them to last 5 mins on the back of the T ! Provided you ride it like it should be.

I have Rennesports fitted also. Yep, they're sticky all right. I love 'em, but I don't think the rear one will see 4000km.

Bad news no 2CT available.... will settle for the norm Mich Pilot Power which go on Friday as its pissin rain here and cant be ****** scrubin tyres in the wet... sorry after i screw these tyres will order 2ct's.... bugger but it wont take long

New Pilot Powers scrubbed and to be tested 2moro..... could not get 15 tooth front but have 16.
Much better gearing and normal rideability and brings in 5th & 6th for hwy cruising at legal speeds. Now cruise in 4th @ 80km-4000rpm and 6th @ 100kms-3600rpm , as for fanging will find out 2moro...also put on tiny indicators 2day (6watt) which look much better than those huge std's

Hey Towie

Call Dave Ward at Moto Italia 0432 441 985

He can get almost anything Aprilia, and he's a nice bloke to boot. He helped me source some hard-to-get gear earlier this year.

Thanks Dave will do the service up here in Cairns is really dad... they say its not possible & we know it is.... my mates griso had first service this week we checked it when he got home... new tyres pressures 5lb low - oil half way up the mark as the mechanic was measureing wrong - also the wrong oil was put in so had to drained - they alos dont stock the correct oil.. after the mechanic disagreed with us we handed him the manual and he was very embarrassed... stupid ******... im thinking about ridding to Townsville to service the T

Rising Sun Honda are the Ape dealers here Towie (for now, anyway).

Let me know if and when you make it to Townsville mate.

Dave

Hey Towie

When did you buy your T? Was it the demo model from the showroom floor with the Akra pipe?

Dave

Yes it had 600klms pipe remap had them throw in first service & 12 mths reg & 2 year warranty inc.... $16900...... yeh its 3 yr old but saved around $8000....
I guess the color would have stopped a few and the 600ks.. a few showroom marks on it but nothing serious your obviously familiar with the bike especially when it was sitting there for 3 yrs.. cheers Towie
