I wouldn't bother if I was you mate. I've got a pair on mine cos they were put on new just before I bought it,if I'd known I would have paid more and had almost anything else.

My Sv1000s came fitted with the damn things as OEM and they are *****. You never know when the back end is going to slide, when I realised the Ape was fitted with them I was going to change them for something else.

Trouble is they still had all the spiky bits on them I had just been made redundant so I couldn't justify throwing a set of new tyres away. I have Avon Storms on the Sv now and I would rate them light years ahead of the Pilot Sports wet & dry.

Done several thousand miles and 2 track days on them and they are hardly worn. I got the Mille to do trackdays on and when I can afford it I may try these Maxxis ones next.

Exellent advice, thanks. Will definately fit somthing else now, might try Diablo Corsas Booleyblade recommends :thumbup

When I 1st started racing, in Roadstocks, I had a pair of Dunlop 208's and I thought they'd make a good road tyre. Anyone tried them on the road?

I used to run 208RRs and found them to be good. Hard to get hold of now since the introduction of the Qualifier.

Cheers Sabre. I've seen em advertised for good money on a couple of sites. I think 'Black and Round', on ebay, was one of them. What is that bike on your avatar? And I like the photo of you on the bike in your business suit:thumbup

Im running 208RR's at the moment not a bad tyre actually apart from one thing , they let go without warning when pushed really hard :puke

Add a yes very OK from me for 2CT's had a good few sets of them and they're excellent dry and wet for everything I have the bottle to throw at them. Now running Metzeler Sporttec (which are really Corsas with a different name on the side) and they've been terriifc so far as well. Would always go with 2CTs but got a great deal on the Metzelers

£130 ish a set. Ive recently fitted a set and had no probs wet or dry. Plenty of feel from the front. They dont like wet white lines though.

MAXXIS Supermaxx Sports

i've got a pair of these i like them...and at £144 fitted from fwr you cant go wrong...i know my old front was shot ,,,but these tyres have changed the bike ..so much more confident ...no chicken strips either now i'm rolling right out to the edge ..as sabre say they warm up very quickly done aboyt 1500 miles now all good :thumbup

but better off with a tyre like a 2ct or such like:thumbup

I've got Michelin pilot road 1's (please don't laugh) on my 2002, and for road use they are fine! hell i've even done a tracday on them! going for about 9000km on the rear now, front still way good.

If I didn't have to use my bike for everyday transport I'd go for the Pirelli's, Fuc*ing awesome tyres
