leslie- from a scottish surname what was derived from a scottish place name, probably derived fro gaelic leas celyn meaning 'garden of holly'
it has been used as a given name from the 19th century,in america it was more commonly a feminine name after the late 1940's

Yes probably doe,s explain my love of neasrly everything Staeside( except for the pieces of crap Harleys) Leslie is a Womans name , it is also a Mans name
and it did lead to a few problems at school....LOL:kicknuts

Never liked that type of music either English Scots Irish or Welsh,,,Attended a military funeral in the West Highlands Oban if I remember correctly,,and a lone piper played a tune called Flowers of the Forest( I think thats what the tune was called) one of the most moving moments in my whole life,,,,

just going of past experiences I was attached to a Scots regiment for a bit and got loads of grief,,,not all bad though a lot of it was banter,,,
