Me again, was just getting organised to get out on the bike and meet up with a few mates and its lashing down. Just have to sit and polish it again.
Anyways, got time to kill so a quick resume' into my last 9 yrs as a born again biker.
Originally from Swindon but moved up to Shrewsbury 25 yrs ago after a 5 yr stint in South Africa.
First bike was a Duke 748, how technology has moved on since the days of Kwaker triples and suchlike. Jeez, this thing was quick to a born again biker.
Soon got used to it and was clammering after something else to keep the adrenline flowing. Bought an MV 750, Stick to the Italian stuff, jap bikes are too sameish.
Became disappointed with the MV. Unless you were wringing its neck to make it go, it was rather gutless. Did get blown off by a Beemer 1100 Boxer cup, I was two up with my 10 yr old on the back and so were the peeps on the Beemer. Sold that and bought a 998s Duke for sunny days and being a hooligan and a Bandit 1200 for a bit of touring and general messin about. Bandit soon went and invested in a Suzy GSX1400. So much grunt, but far too heavy when getting it in and out of the garage, but a superb bike all the same. Had another moment...and bought another MV. 1000cc this time. Man, this thing is frightenly quick. Smashing!!
Then late last year, had yet another moment and sold the Duke and the GSX for a ..........Triumph tiger 1050. Mid life crises, possibly but who knows. Did mean to keep the Duke as an investment, had it from new but what the hell. Triumph Tiger, nice but boring, did everything perfectly. Sweet motor, nice comfortable riding position, good touring bike..... touring??? Havent been anywhere since Valencia WSB 3 yrs ago.
So along comes my mate on his spanking like new RSV Mille. Oh yes, that awesome sounding v/twin motor, stunning looks, but not another head down arse up in the air bike, please. I was getting the heart rules the head feeling again. Then out of the blue, someone at my local bike meet mentions a Tuono.
So here I am with my new bike, waiting for the sun to shine..ha. Still have the MV, but its Tuono time now and its awesome!!
