New member to the forum

Welcome to the insanity. Some good folks here... and there are some Poms as well. We share the love of Tuonos here... and the love of trying to piss off the other forum members...

It appears I am getting very good at that Shovel - one member in particular :thumbup

'Ignorance is a state of being uninformed.'
- not guilty (well unless we are talking about technical bike stuff)

'The informal use of ignorant is the same as rude and discourteous.'
- as Bay and myself were the first to say hello back, not guilty there either. Yes perhaps we then went off on one a bit, but as a new member I would love to see loads of replies to my first post than none at all.

Which leads me to another point. Many many times lately I have been on here quite late and no-one whatsoever is posting, even though there are hundreds of people online.

In that situation I am crying out for people to post anything so I can respond - it's called passing the time.

So Aldo, if you don't like what people are posting just ignore it. Why bother working yourself up chill out ffs :thumbup

Dunno didn't see you for 20 mins. But yes theory is sound just takes practice I suppose.

This motorcycling lark isn't flipping easy is it. Ten yrs I've been riding and feel like a flipping novice. By the time I'm any good at it I'll be dead through excessive sniftering.

I don`t want to teach grannies to suck eggs but I think you should ride your own bike mate. Never chase a fellow rider and there`s nothing wrong using the road to see around the bend as long as you stay within the lines.

We do NOT want to loose anyone.

I didn't chase him Hector, got held up and therefore took me a while to catch-up. I'm no loon, ride pretty slowly actually most of the time but thanks for your concern :thumbup

Oh, and the other side of the road thing. I basically messed up a left-hander somehow, not going quickly either and ended up over the other side of the road a bit.

Hector you're right. Stix didn't chase either. I just managed to get past a car and he didn't. The Newtown road is a lovely road which is difficult to get past as its so winding. I had some fun for a bit and then slowed down. In a group ride I try to stick together.

PS Stix calm down. People are entitled to their own opinions. Its an open forum after all. Some of us tend not to post what we think and just have a friendly banter with other riders we bother with off the forum.

I am calm. You know me I'm pretty laid back. Just sometimes I have to say something. Don't like being called ignorant though tbh.

I ummed and ahhed this morning and know I should just ignore & laugh about it but in the end I had to voice my opinion :thumbup

Mister Chips - welcome to the forum.

(Traditionally over on AF1 I would now tell you to **** off and ride the thing, but people might think I was being rude)

Top choice on the bike, there is something called the Tuono Grin, can't quite put my finger on why, but these bikes just make you smile, and once you have ridden one, if you get it, they are difficult to replace. There is something about the Tuono that gets into your psyche and before you know it you are lavishing them with carbon, etc. Buying a Factory will help as it has most of the bling already, but beware, the Tuono is a glamorous Italian babe. If you ignore her too long she will sulk, treat her well and she will look fantastic and give you the ride of your life. :)
Like all Italian mistresses, she might just sulk for now ferkin reason though - it's called "character"

I`ve done it myself. I like to be at the back and sometimes get stuck behind but I know they will wait at turn offs or I know where we`re going anyway.

No I just ****** up & was lucky nothing was coming!

Riding god me - not :)

Get yourself some training. I dont mean IAM type flourescent tabard wearing police riding skills. (Before any IAM members leaop down my throat I have IAM myself) Book yourself a day with someone like Rapid Training, either road or on track. Having more skill is definitely safer than less. I was at Cadwell last week with a similar bunch called Hopp Rider Training (I go every year with Liz, it helps build her confidence and it's a trackday for me) - bit tame for the trackday affectionados, but excellent for honing simple skills like braking, cornering etc. etc.

Yes Bat, I have thought about it loads of times just never got around to doing it. I'll look into it :thumbup

Do it, it is actually good fun - I just looked over Rapid's site - they do stuff in your neighbourhood as well.

I`ve never had any training , passed my test in 74.
I have fallen/knocked off a few times though.

I have noticed how they teach you how to be at lights etc .... one foot on the ground ???

I`ve also seen cones on the road but have never had the inclination to slalom around them .

I also know that other road users have a mind of their own and can aim their vehicle at you.

I don`t want to knock the training and I don`t know everything but with all the training in the world you cannot getaway safe from all the morons.

This threads a croc of *****.

And thats saying something for this place.

He aint going to admit it if he's from South Wales, the thread seems to have been Welshjacked.

Welcome mate, enjoy.
