New levers great value

Till you try shorty levers You dont know what you are missing

I found with the stock levers on my rsv that I was riding the clutch for some reason, I also did this years ago on my wifes then fazer

I have far more feel in a shorty lever as the ball catches on the last finger

With the stock levers my fingers actually slide along the lever and you loose feel

I had the same problem with the tuono when we got it 2 weeks ago and sorted it with a set of shorties

With a shorty brake you can actually cover the brake and accelerate with the last two fingers when in town riding and still have great feel of the pressure you need to stop

These are my asertions and will not be everyones but its the first thing I do to any bike I buy

Oh aye and im with rico on the coolness lol

Right ya fud

Have you got standard cans on your T? Yep the racing illegal one which I have to replace as it invalidates my insurance with (FOR RACE USE ONLY) emblazened on the side

Have you replaced any of the nasty Lira Land bolts with stainless? Nope I just keep it well doused in ACF50

Have you got the original brand of tyres on? No as I bought it second hand and haven't changed those yet.

Taller screen? Nope

ERRRR... ffs brian ... err brain ... don't fail me now

What about your helmet! Ha! c l e a r visor? ... Any tint or mirror involved? Yep have a Iridium visor for safety when heading into the sun but original when in winter when sun isn't out that much.

More, must think of more

Side stand! Original? Yep totally

mmmmm

**** it I give up.

No wait!! Cans!!!! Have you still got the silent night hush-a-bye-baby standard cans? Nope I have the illegal louder race version as stated above which I haven't had time to change in the time its taken me to get from the top of this reply to here.

Shorty levers I would question to be honest. God designed hands and levers that you can wrap 1 2 3 or 4 fingers round and the choice is yours. Then some clever **** said lets make it so only a max of 2.5 can be applied.

Its a matter of choice

Answers to your questions above

What I really am trying to get at though is that people make improvements to their bikes to improve power / running (exhausts, MAP 2, new tyres). However, I cannot see a benefit to changing the levers. Perhaps standard levers on bikes suit my hands I dunno but personally I don't see that the fuss and effort on my behalf would make much difference to how I'd ride the bike thats all. I tend not to fuss with it much.

What and people notice that when you're overtaking them. ****** it I knew I was doing summat wrong.

I absolutely love bikes I really do but even when parked up I don't go around looking at levers. In fact I liked Aka_Gilos bike a lot and didn't even notice his levers. I did notice his condom coloured grips though as I have the same ones. Oh and I replaced those as the other ones were worn out. I'll replace my levers when they are as well ;)

short.....long.......**** at that price i'll try both. I'm always open to new ideas.

I've had every decent make known to mankind and these are easily the best. One fingered clutching I kid yer not.

Been trying to find a post that I put up about these ebay levers a while ago, but I reckon it must have been deleted when everything went **** up.

Essentially, last summer I got a set of the ebay pazzo/crg rip off jobbies in black. As you say they needed a bit of sanding to get them to fit and on my first attempt at fitting them one of the lever “headers” snapped with minimal force applied. I contacted the ebayer and amazingly he sent me a replacement header and I then fitted the levers.

As you say, they feel great and also look the part and seemed to work fine whilst the bike was stationary. I then did a bit of internet research into them and there are quite a few threads out there telling stories of woe about the front brake locking up due to poor manufacturing tolerances on the ebay levers – but not in all cases.

Being acutely aware of this I went for a short ride maybe 1.5 miles and just as I was turning into a Mate’s street the front wheel totally locked, thankfully the bike was upright and I was going at walking pace so no harm done, but I couldn’t even move the bike to the side of the road! I literally had to strip the lever off in the street to move the bike while cars waited.

Anyway, I thought that maybe I had cocked up the fitting and refitted at my mate’s place for the ride home being very careful how much brake I used and sure enough as I pull on to my driveway the wheel locked up again!

By contrast the clutch lever was fine. I have since stripped the levers off and there aren’t any issues with the brakes at all. My ethics won’t allow me to sell on them as I think they’re dangerous so £55 down the pan and my corroded old ones are still on.

Essentially saying be very careful on your first few runs out with the ebay levers as not all the stories I read on this ended quite as safely!

Good luck!

PS: those ASV Levers look the nads though and I might be investing!

Wicked - I've just got an email saying mine are in the post!

I'll be getting the vernier and mike on them as soon as they arrive to compare them with the originals

Do you know why yours jammed on? I assume the lever got stuck in back position? Any indication which area was to blame?

Ducati levers fit T's. Look for some of them, I had some black ones on for a while while I got the dough together for some decent ones.

not entirely sure, I can only guess that the manufacturing tolerances are slightly out, as I say I gather a lot of people haven't had any issues at all. I did read somewhere that it's a side effect of the adjuster spring being slighly too strong, but that's just a guess. Certainly the clutch was absolutely fine, but you can adjust the plunger on the clutch which I did, whereas the brake plunger is unadjustable.

Truth be told, my theory is that it just held the plunger fractionally too tight on the master cylinder and didn't let it release properly, but given the potential for an accident I simply wasn't prepared to risk the bike whilst I worked it out! Hopefully you'll have more luck with yours.

if i rememember right mrmister posted a similar story when he was a regular, new lever probs,so he put the old ones back on.. better off buying the more expensive ones..says he with standard ones.. fud..
