Went to look at a new RSV this week. Not a factory but the cream coloured standard model..Dealer almost begged me to bring my factory down despite the above norm mileage..

Tempted, but..

The stickers on the new bike not laquered in whereas on mine they are and as such the new bikes feel like they could start to peel off.

Is the factory so much better than the standard bike?
Why are they so keen on mine, to sell there's?

There's is up for £7995

I used to be indecisive but now I'm not sure:dunno

Like my bike and still being offered a reasonable trade in, tempted to just keep mine long term..:dunno

Obviously it depends on what they offered for yours mate. But if it was me id be inclined to keep the factory, as for the high mileage that should be fine as long as you look after the suspension etc as the engines are good for the distance.

I agree. How much they offering for yours and how many miles has it done. I'd still be tempted to keep the factory unless it's a really really good deal.

Mark, I don't know if Taz at Peterborough are still doing this but last September they were offered me a brand new RSV for £7,995 with a set of Akrapovic cans thrown in as well. They also made me a very good offer on my 1200 bandit. I was really tempted but decided on a used 2006 RSV that I got from Cooperb Motorcycles in Northampton in October which I love to bits. £8k was just too much for me to spend on a bike but it was close call.

Keep ur factory Mark as its the dogs dangalies and i think you will regret getting rid of it. ;)

Mileage on mine now 27k, if I keep it another year it'll be around 35k if I do the same mileage..Been offered 4k for mine..Can't stretch to new factory (plus hate the colours) or keep mine and when it eventually goes bang, buy a lower mileage bike/engine..

Like a lot of people, jobs not 100% secure..Maybe I'm talking myself into keeping it..

Mark, your last comment about your job not being 100% secure makes it a no-brainer for me.

I take it that you`d have to factor in some sort of finance-agreement to go for the newer one, and if that`s the case then keep what you`ve got bud, as the last thing you need is any extra financial worry should the job fall through.

You like what you`ve got already, and you`re going to gain nothing much by buying a newer RSV........nice as they are !

Just my tuppeny`s worth mate; good luck with your choice. :thumbup

well put sir. don't let the heart rule the head!!!!!!!

Agree...Been there done that..Hence trying to decide for the best..Will probably keep mine this next year. Very much doubt that I'll be in a position to buy another high value bike..We will see, hope 2010 a better year for everyone.
