Found out that my battery was 10ah, i thought it was 12. But anyway i must buy a new one and i am going to go for a 14ah one. But will it fit on my 00 rsv? Is it not going to be to large? Or is there a special brand i must look after that will fit?
But that is a 12ah battery. Why do they call it 14 when it is 12ah? I have Yuasa YTX12-BS and it is only 10ah. Also have a Exide with the same pn and that is also 10 ah. So a YTX16-BS is 14ah....wtf do they not use 14 if it is a 14ah battery....have they been shoot in there head with a heavy gun :dunno
YTX14-BS was standard on pre 2000 models. 2001 onwards got YTX12-BS. You can fit the earlier and larger battery to the new 01 to 03 models. The best option is to go with Badgers recommendation of YTZ14S-BS as this offers more cold cranking power then YTX14-BS.
Through experience YTX14-BS is perfectly fine. Keep the bike hooked up to an Optimate battery tender when not in use and you won't have any battery issues
