Hi everyone, my engine blew its valve's last week, the engine is knackered bits of piston and valve everywhere, does any one have a 1000 v4 engine available or know where i can get one? or does any one want to buy a bike with a knackered engine?

Oh dear that's not good, how many miles had it done out of interest

there are some used engines on ebay in America for sale. A brand new one from Aprilia costs around £7000

Bad yin Oli min...What were ye up tae when it went pop? Track or road ?

Valves blew ye say....a cam timing chain let go mibbe, tensioner issue :dunno. Damage incurred sounds affy similar to when a timing chain or belt goes.

Ahm nae help tae ye ah ken but ahm jist interested to hear what u think caused it

Thats **** Oli.
Don't know any breakers that would have an engine.
Good luck trying to source one.

Near miss then gadgie....a loss o power mid overtake is never a good thing.

Bike is nearly rebuilt, almost new engine (only 8 miles), I will be selling the bike when it returns as I can't afford a bike anymore

That's another bummer mucker. :thumbdown

picked the bike up Saturday, I forgot how good these things sound (even when running it in), if I get another PPI payment I may have to keep it LOL

Even when they **** their innards. :no

I don't have confidence in its reliability, first the stator failed, then I had a problem with the exhaust valve servo, then the engine blew. if i get a payout I will trade it in for something Japanese I have my eye on a 2009 black Yamaha R1 crossplane crankshaft

Rode the bike 50 miles home, parked it up for 3 days, now it won't start, back to the bike shop again
