Don't know where to start really but my Yamagamma has been pinched from my locked garage in the Hastings / St Leonards on Sea area some time in the past couple of days. I can't say exactly when it went as I haven't been round there since last weekend but I discovered it this afternoon when I went to take the RSV-R out that is also in there. Confusingly, the RSV-R was still there untouched but the garage door handle had been forced and the hasp cropped. We found the intact padlock nearby. They have then cut through the cable lock that was round both bikes, and presumably wheeled/dragged the Yamagamma out of the garage past the RSV. I am both gutted as I built the bike from the ground up a couple of years ago but also relieved that the RSV was untouched. I'm also very puzzled as to why someone would take it. The bike is unique and very recognisable in both looks and sound. I know it inside out and would recognise almost any part from it as it had many non standard parts. However, someone knew it was there as they knew exactly which garage to go for. I haven't even ridden it since last October and the garage can't be seen from the road.

I have posted up a number of pics and some of the unique parts are as follows:

Based on 1986 RG250 MK3
Reg D29 UGK
Yamaha 350 YPVS motor (clear window clutch cover, Banshee oil pump cover)
Lomas pipes, Tyga cans
Home made 'right way up' gearchange linkage
KR1 carbs, TZR choke mechanism
KR1 throttle
Oval Ramair filters
Divvy forks
FZR400 83mm spacing 4 pot front calipers
GSXR yokes, 3MA clip ons, grey Renthal grips
Koso RX1N digital clocks with white face
4x17 Brembo rear wheel from SZR660
3x17 TZR250 3MA front wheel both powdercoated white almost unmarked
Modern shock (not sure if R1 or GSXR) with yellow spring and piggyback reservoir (as pic)
Recently powdercoated silver standard RG250 swingarm
Hand painted lucky strike paint job

sounds awfully suspicious mate.somebody knows that it was in there.....i built a custom mx bike and that got stolen from my garage.....nothing else was taken apart from it....its still never been found to this day.....sure it was by somebody i know but i couldn't prove it.
one good thing came of it....i ramped my garage security up to the max now......super alarm and cctv.

i hate these scum. no regard for anybody or anything. i'm sorry to hear this. at least they didn't take the mille dude. probably couldn't get it started! sorry mate couldn't resist.

****** twats.
they want there thieving hands chopping off so they cant pinch ewt ever again.
looked a stunner too,
and as usual, the cops will be useless.
they always are till youve got an inch smaller number plate on your bike ffs.
sympathys buddy.

I know mate, as I said on another forum it's really confused me as the RSV is worth much more in parts. I'd instantly recognise any bits off the RG and it's very distinctive so they'd be very stupid to ride it around. It's starting to sink in now and I'm gutted because I put a lot of work into building it and loved that bike

Gutted for you, keep an eye on all the local rags and fleabay for your parts, with such a distinctive bike i'd think it'll be hard work moving it on.

One thing I'm always wary of is posting any pics of where my bike is parked, or giving to many details on here, or any other sites (anyone can see them with a google search) Read about people using facebook to search for bikes they wanted and using the pics to find out what security they have. I know this dosen't help you, but i'd make sure that couldn't be whats happened here.

Just saw this on the PB site...*******s! sorry to hear about this and hope you get it back in one piece..

Mate, really sorry to hear this. Sure if you have a think you can probably think who it is. Very likely someone who already owns one as they left the Mille.

as u say,the milles worth more,
so its deffo been pinched to order.
someones seen it,knew were it was kept and paid
some scumbag to nick it for em,
i had the same happen to me when i was 17.
they came and took my yamaha dt125.
so i got another on the insurance, upped my dads garage security,
parked a granada 2.9v6 right up to the garage door as well.
they came back 2 month later, got into the granda,
pushed it away from the door uphill!!,
took the other bike, closed the door, moved the car back upto garage door,
locked both without any damage and left a kids police helmet on the fookin floor
in the garage cheeky *******s.

at that time, the 125cc learner scrambler looking bikes were all the rage
and pinched to order.

useless cops never found fook all, just fingerprinted then sodded off.

I had 2 stolen a good few years ago and when the police came round the scum that had taken them had cropped the paddlocks 2 of them tidied the garage up to get the bikes out.
This was middle of summer and I sleep about 20 feet away with windows open and never heard a thing.
There might be some good news in this for you the police said try and find the padlocks and we could not so they said this was a professional job because they took the padlocks with them.
So there is a possibility these are novices at stealing so you might well get it back.
Now the only thing my garage hasnt got is an electrified door even the bikes are chained to the floor inside the garage and so many alarms but it seem as though if you want to keep it you have to make sure noone can get it.
I did have an attempted break in a while ago and one of the alarms went off and so the would be robbers fled.
when the police came round they could not believe how much security I had and he said apart from a guard dog there was nothing he could advise to make it any more secure.

Good luck hope you get it back but just an in justice we had my boys car stolen we had to pay the compound fee to get it back would have to lose the no claims and pay the excess which would mount to more than the car was worth.
The police actually caught the kids that did it and they got 20hrs comunity service and we were out of pocket by £500.

HOWS THAT FAIR:rant
Rant finished for the day

Thanks for the support and suggestions. It's now been posted on at least 10 related forums. Agree about it being pinched to order, although as I said earlier I haven't used it since last year so no-one's seen it about so I reckon someone local did it, or had it done. Here's a couple of the most recent pics I have, just before I loaded it up after October's Stafford show.

i hate to say it...but it could actualy be someone you know!!
thats all i could think after my 2nd one got nicked,
as how would a thief know id replaced it so quickly,
and why would they risk nicking from the scene of there previous crime??!!
i hated everyone bar very good mates.

if it hasnt been out in ages, its gotta be someone who knows about it,
and a stranger wouldnt!

a horrible thought but one that cant be discounted.

I agree someone who knew about it. Know how you feel I had a zx400 and a zx4g trackbike nicked a couple of years back, barstewards!

Thanks for the support guys. Police attended but unfortunately couldn't get any prints off the garage. So I guess it's just a case of sitting tight until parts turn up.

You know, that's an awful conclusion to arrive at but it just has to be true. B*stards!

sucks dont it.
they may not have nicked it,but i bet someone he knows was in on it,
even if he just got a few quid for handing over details of its whereabouts.
******s.

An all too common occurrence these days!!!! Why do we assume that the bike was stolen to order? Maybe the Mille was left behind because its a big bike and possibly because most modern bikes have decent alarm systems. Maybe the 17 year old thief viewed the Suzuki as an easy option, (A) light and manoeuvrable or (B) Easier to steal.
I would look at all areas which have line of sight to the garage plus any over looking properties, the rate of bike theft in the area, as well as recalling the last time you visited the garage and who was in the area, i.e. kids playing football near the garages etc...
It is a sad loss, but maybe if it is a kid then you stand a greater chance of recovering the bike (fingers crossed). I use an array of locks and alarms as I too have been the victim of bike crime however my saviour has to be the DATATOOL SNITCHER. This alerted me resulting in me taking a video using my mobile of the thief in action. He was arrested, found to be tagged as he committed a similar offence a few months back and the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) decided not to prosecute.
All the best and I hope you have some luck with the recovery!!!!!!

Also forgot to say:

Sort out the Security for the Mille as these twats may return!!!!!! they now know how easy it was to enter and they now know what else you have in there!!!!
