Found the monument to Sir Charles Upham VC and Bar. He is one of our national World war 2 heroes who won 2 Victoria Crosses.

Me at Lake Tekapo. The scenery was just simply outstanding. The photos down do any justice.

Had to cut the trip a little short as the whole country got enveloped with bad weather. Stopped off at a BP to warm up and defrost. New Zealand is a fantastic country to motorcycle. Nice roads and very twisty! Anyway just thought you may enjoy.

awsome pictures mate , pitty about the weather cutting it short. think id have to have a bigger tent . LOL :)

So envious - NZ south island is on my list of places to go before i die !

Looks like you had a great trip there.

Aim (if i can scrape up enough cash) to hire a bike for a couple of weeks and tour aroud. The Pound is so crap at the moment, everything is so expensive... especially bike hire in NZ !

:(

Weather wise, is January the "best" month ?

More pix if you have any... and any advice / must see places etc appreciated !!!!!!!!

Haha yes well funny enough I bought a bigger tent when I got back. Should be more comphy next year when I do it again...

Hi Felix

Yes January is good weather...nice and hot but loads of tourists driving on the wrong side of the road in their camper vans :). Bike hire might be even more expensive soon. The goverment in their wisdom might be putting bike road registrations up by about 300%!! *******s! If you do come here you are more than welcome to come stay a night at my place for a night, that might save you some $$. Head towards queenstown which is right down the bottom at about the centre. Go back up the west coast as it has primo roads!

My favourite is the mountains to the back left with the ocean lapping in the forefront... Reminds me of Vancouver on my West Coast... Nice pics, mate... Us flatlanders have to live vicariously through you lot, so please keep posting!
