so i parked my bike about 2 months ago tried starting it about a week or so later, starter relay went out. i put a new one in bought a new battery tried to start it and it finally started to run but just for a second then it dies. now my starter clutch is making a nasty clank noise and i dont want to keep trying to start it, any suggestions?
my rsv only runs for a second

Hello Mate
Have you checked the tilt switch under the seat? It has an arrow on it to tell you which way it should be fitted. If this isn't correct, the bike will start but only run for a few seconds and then shut off again.
Also, give it a bit of a shake. It may be stuck.

i shook the heck out of it, but im not at my bike at the moment but i never noticed a switch with an arrow
turns out my tilt switch was just laying there but now my starter clutch is shot.... thanks for the tip though i appriciate it
yep was my tilt switch i brought my jump box home from work and it fired right up seriously thanks for that tip again i was racking my brain but now that i know what it is i realise i need a service manual
