Well as lovely as my RSVR looks sat in my garage on a paddock stand i decided it'd probably nice to ride it as well as i've only been out on it once. just got a decent tyre on the back and im ready to rock... well i would be if the ******* thing would start!!! its fired up nicely in the past but now its dead. Bit of background on me helps the next part...

upon leaving school i decided i wanted to play with spanners so i went and did an apprentaship in light vehicle. I left the trade a few years back to persue a favoured career option in Psychiatric Nursing but obviously i still retain my knowledge as a grease monkey and service my own vehicles etc etc etc. My house mate is also a tech and works on those 4 wheeled things for Mercedes... anywho where were we?

Ah so Ben draggs me out of my pit this morning (hung over) and tells me we're gonna go out for a rip, que much banter and piss taking from the Jap bike owning **** because he is happy in the knowledge that his Gixxer will fire up if the tank is full of water and its -49394733 degrees. its ok i cry, i'll whip the plugs out of my ever so pretty Mille, give them a clean and it will fire up on the button, angels will sing, people in my street will cry joyus tears at the sheer beauty of my bike (your getting the picture)
So anyway Techy head on... Plugs are old and fouled so i replaced them, Got fresh fuel in it, wangled it up to the car for a jump start just to be easy on the starter. so will it run?! Will it Buggery!!! its getting fuel, admittedly i havent checked for a spark but thats because i think its the very least of my worries!

It cranks over, my concern is the ******* horrific noise it makes... hollow, metallic, snappy, grinding :rant

:eatcorn

Got your attention? *cough* Starter Clutch *cough*

I feel better for offloading that... Anyway it looks awesome :thumbup

Sorry to hear about your woes mate.

A horrible hollow, metallic, snappy, grinding noise sounds like it may be the sprag gremlins at work again.

Before you go ripping off the fairings and engine casings, make sure your battery is fully charged.

Being an ex techie you'll have no issues diagnosing and fixing it, but if you do need any help, please just ask and it's guaranteed that someone on the forum will be able to help.

Tis fully charged and kept on an Optimiser... and as i said i took a jump off the car to help it out

Merry Bleedin Christmas eh?!

I'm in the same boat almost.

Weather's lovely for riding and my bikes in bits at the moment.

Needs the rear shock link (Dogbone) bearings replacing as they collapsed, the rear hugger bolts all sheared when I removed it, waiting on my helicoils to arrive.

Gonna be a pretty ride free Christmas for us two I think.

Oh well, I can see me diving in to a couple of beers later this afternoon and a nice bottle of red this evening.

You'll love this...

Got a Gixxer 600 also on stands behind it

DIY MotoGP Starter!!!!!!

This could be fun

CHECK VOLTAGE ON THE BATTERY.

IF not Sprag is ******

Fooking hell Tim, it's a good job you don't work for the samaritans, the national suicide rate would triple. LOL

Imagine the scene:

Your all kitted up ready for a blast, you walk up to your Italian superbike hit the go go button and all you here is a bag of spanners rumbling around in the bowls of your fairings.

Then along comes you and tells him as it is instead of bullshitting and saying 'No worries mate it will all be fine tomorrow'

Fooking realists!!

PS. Tim, you know I'm only kidding.

Can you tell I feel better already - man flu - no way is it beating me.

You on the wine yet?

Hi Lads

Yep wine flowing here as we celebrate New years eve,

How many times did you try and start it?

Perhaps we should warn all new owners the dos and donts this happening to many times!!

Alan dont tell me that your man flu has passed already lol

I hope your bosses dont use this site lol

Hi White trash

We forgot to tell you that errrr its impossible to bump the mille unless you are at least 45 stone and have a bulldozer to push you.

Not a worry M8 there is plenty of info on how to chenge the fecking shitey Sprag and AMB67 is a wizard on the fix.

If you need any help then dont forget to ask ( not me though as it will end up in a disaster) lol

That is the best thing i have seen this year!!

Fantastic never thought of that.

It was pretty funny, had to be done... sadly we couldnt get enough grip but it was worth it all the same!!!

As for Bumping it, we had a 14st Ex MotoX racer at the helm doing the old jump down bit, and 3 of us mugs pushing. We really put the effort in :doug
