Thought i would start a thread up about this , i mentioned on another thread about doing this little run and i know a few are up for it , so how about the 1st or 8th May or earlier , up to you guys ?
Route is ...
from here ... burnham on sea
10 miles down the minehead rd and hang a left down a great road ( best round here i reckon ) real tight and twistie , then some fast stuff .
minehead
down to porlock
then to lynton and lynmouth ( fish n chips )
up across the moors and then to the dunster rd
back along the twistie rd
then towards taunton , another great rd
coffee at V&J honda in bridwater and all bugger off home
All in all i reckon a good 160 miles but can reduce that by a bit if some feel its too far .


Let me know your thoughts ( not weird thoughts though , keep them to your selves )

Did a good section of this run today and fookin loved it except i only got 90 miles to a tank full of fuel which is weird as i wasnt speeding at all , honest !
 
Deffo up for that mate, there's some cracking roads down there.

8th May is better for me. :thumbup

Have to say though I'm completely nackered today after yesterday's ride, and it wan't even that long (left @ 10 back by 5ish) :sleeping
 
That's cos I took you on roads you have to think about rather than just strAight roads fella. Really really enjoyed to run though. Following Richard on the run from Hereford to Aber he's a smoothe efficient rider ain't he. Really rides that BMW well
 
Yes you are probably right bay. The first stretch was twisty twisty - concentrating hard.

He surprised me actually, he knows how to ride that beast of his there is no doubt. Followed him all the way home and at some points it was quite obvious he was waiting for me & Roly to keep up!

We had a pint when we got home and he was talking about how he had ridden down to France & track days he'd been on etc. so he's obviously a pretty accompolished rider.
 
Yeah some of his lines aren't exactly what I'd take as left hand bend I'm always in the right hand car track (not the other side of the road as some peopel do) and right handers I'm in the left hand car track. Just better field of vision and avoid all the **** in the centre of the road. Mind u **** and gravel on the road didn't seem toa ffect his speed much lol (Hereford to Abergavenny stretch ;))
 
No!! That was an arse-twitcher all right, I accelerated into the gravel and v quickly rolled off as sharply as I dared!! I know what you mean about the lines, I try and do the same. Try - didn't work too well yesterday lucky there were no cars coming :eek
 
Well guys can't make the 8th may now as it's the weekend of the triathlon I'm doing. Bad timing. However is anyone out the Sunday before on the 1st

I've done no training mate. Just relying on the fact I'm a good swimmer and reasonable biker before the final run. *****
 
Well I could def make the 1st. Have to miss my neighbours royal wedding party though lol. I think it's more an excuse to have a party on the bank holiday weekend to be honest but I'm sure I'll catch the tail end of it if I go out on the 1st on the bike. If people can't change I'm off out on the 1st weather depandant anyway.
 
Oh well that's it decided. Best stick to designated date. My fault for ******* up dates. Anyone out on 1st. Have bike will travel (within relatively sane distances so I can make my royal wedding party later)
