Hangon here guys!!

I thought the Mille engine from our RSV was a Suzuki TLS engine??? :thumbup

The engine in the SV 1000 is the TL one (albeit with some 300+ mods) still a vastly underated bike.

Just sending the suspension to Maxtons makes it a whole different animal. :devious

I test rode a TLR in between the SP1 and the R1, stunning engine and the gearbox was oh so sweet, but it handled like my firestorm and was too heavy.

Suzuki had the opportunity to pull something out of the bag but they failed sooooo miserably which is a crying shame.

BTW it was a bog standard bike in everyway.

Cheap twins

they paid £2500 for the rsv

surly mcn can find a sv1000 or tlr for that money

but then again if they just look at whats on the mcn site alot of bikes are over priced so ill shut up :rotfl

Couple of cheap twins..

Though if the two wheeled variety? Have you seen this weeks MCN? You can pick up a new Buell 1125 (Rotax engine) for £5495, that's a lot of bike for that money, though ugly as sin..

The engine in a SV is uber tame compared to the TL. And it weighs more.

Looks like this was filmed just outside the main gates of Brands Hatch.:pirate

Also recognized the road under the bridge.:biggrin

bring out the TLR , sp2 and 996 and re-do the test as the rsv can then be compaired to bikes that are in the same class as it

Bike Mag did this test in April 2000... ...

4th - TL1000R
3rd - Ducati 996
2nd - RSV-R
1st - SP1

SP only won over the RSV-R because it was more of a track test... but as a road bike the RSV-R would of won it !! :thumbup
