Just skiiving off in the office bog having a sit-down with MCN and got to their Top Ten Best Handling Sports Bikes feature (as voted for by readers).
And the prize for Best Handling Sports Bike - beating 675, 1098, Fireblade, GSX-R, R1, etc is ... the RSV1000 Factory!
:doug:doug:doug

The 04> RSV-R is 6th, so two flavours in a list of ten :)

This month's PB also has the RSV in it, but the old jellymoulder ;) Why do the press seem to concentrate on the old shape RSV? MCN normally have it in their "Top Ten" spread and RiDE use the 04> Factory as the default Factory model picture and the old shape R as the default R picture?

I think I may be waffling... :)

Before everyone gets too excited, remember this is voted by the readers- who are all biased!!!

'Real' people are 15 stone and 6', so the best handling bike for a fatty isn't the best bike for an 8 stone waif!

I think most people would agree that an RS250 handles better than a Mille, but there just aren't enough people out there who have experienced them.

ive rode loads of bikes and the rs250 handles better than them all!!:thumbup

Sadly I never have...

Only time I ever rode an RS250 it was around the paddock at Mallory Park.

I did take a ZXR400 arounds Brands last year just for the fun of it though, and yes, that handled better than an RSV too.

(But it only had about 60bhp so felt somewhat frustrating in comparison as I rode the bikes literally back-to-back)

Hello there, I'm dont have many years of biking behind me. Dont get me wrong I love my mille but even my rs 125 handled like it wer on rails, nothing has given me ear to ear grins like that lil pocket rocket did. I can only imagine how the 250 handles.

I must be strange/slow as I've never had handling issues with any bike, including Kawasaki triples and GSXR1100K..Though I once had a massive tank slapper on a GS550 (Bent frame) :)

My Factory been bu**ered handling wise since dealer changed fork seals, now they're solid..When it warms up, going to take them off and take to a guy who sets them up to the riders weight. (Booth suspension)

RS250 has always been on my list of "Bikes I would own if I won the Lottery". Love, but much prefer the old square shape ones over the newer bubble ones, ewww.

Mmmm me thinks you should take a zxr400 out on the road and then you'll change your mind.

I've had loads of different bikes and they have all handled fantastically for my ability. However, even with my ltd ability even I noticed an amazing difference with my rsv factory. That bike was stunning in the handling department. Come to think of it, it was just stunning period. That's why I've bought another.

I've never bought 2 models of the same bike before. I've always moved onto a different model or make. The combination of handling, looks, NOISE and a little bit of exclusivity have bought me back to aprilia again. That says something when it's my hard earned money I'm spending buying a bike instead of being given a bike to thrash about all year long like journo's. in the real world we do weigh 14 stone and ride for fun/enjoyment, so I guess I find it better that it is voted by the people.

Not had an RS250 but have moved to the Mille from an RGV 250N :inlove and that handled better than my mille but they both put a massive grin on my face for different reasons :biggrin

Best handling bike i have owned out the create by far and its not light, just good engineering.

I previously rode 600s, Kwackers and R6. The RSVR is just 'twist and go'!!!! It inspires confidence and that engine braking has got me out of so many close calls. I love it........
