Hey guys i dont have a tuono YET!!! but i figured id ask some questions, one what is the lean angle like, i plan on living at the track and my last bike (hypermotard 821) all i did was scrape pegs and ruin my boots. two, how are the maintence periods and prices, mostly for getting your valves checked...also how is the Sachs suspension? the dealer wont even prep a bike for me unless i come in ready to buy. and how is the after market for the tuono? iv heard the seat is terrible, and obviously ill have to get atleast a slip on to hear that beautiful v4. i think thats all i have for now

THANKS!!!!

Hi Rozie.

The bike handles like a sportsbike because that's what it is really.

Maintenance: 1st valve check is at 12.5k Miles. I have just had the second one done and require two new cams and 8 buckets on the inlet side due to premature wear. (known Aprilia fault on some of the earlier models)

Sachs suspension is quite harsh, but once set up correctly is good. My advice is get a good suspension guy to set it up. That's what I did.

The seat. I didn't have a problem with the hard seat, but I did have a problem with sliding about on it so replaced it with the Aprilia Gel seat option. This is still fairly hard, but not slippery.
You can also replace it with the seat from the new tuono V4 Factory. It is a direct replacement and much more forgiving in the butt cheek area. Also very cheap.

Slipon. The choice is endless. I have an Austin Racing GP2 and the soundtrack is pure Motogp.

Any more questions just shout.

The standard can sounds awesome, you may have an issue with noise levels if you put a replacement can on?

Really?? Is the Akra quieter??!! Damn, that's what came on my bike, oh well, sounds nice anyway :biggrin

You would be surprised just how loud the stock can is :thumbup

The Akra with catted link pipe has a nice growl, but is not loud like some of the slipons.

It weighs as much as a small child though :lol

Yeah my ones got the small catted link pipe, need a small mortgage to buy the non cat pipe alone!!!!

Absolutely brilliant bike, You will out the Hyper easily enough! I have a Duc 999 and I am definately quicker on the Tuono, seating position is upright but slightly pulled forward, Pegs are high as they are the same as the RSV4, Seat is sort of hard, but its not as bad as some ( i rode 600miles in one day last week, got a bit numb) but it is slippery, a seat cover of the newer version would be a good replacement.

Aftermarket bits are widely available, lots of dedicated places. I would reccomend the Austin Racing cans if you can get away with it on the track, I love mine, The noise, Power and handling is just brilliant all round.

Wish I'd bought one sooner, The Tuono is my 17th motorcycle and I cant see me selling it on anytime soon.

Thanks guys! as soon as I sell my bike I will be getting a tuono, I did think of one more question I had, I am looking at a 15' tuono 1000 but I see the 1100 factory seems to be just a tish better in every way, whats your opinions on the factory, the 15' is about 6k less then the factory and it doesn't seem like the factory is really worth that much more for pretty much ohlins...?

Get the factory 1100, it's different altogether to the previous version, the way it develops its power is awesome and the handling that the Ohlins provide is second to none
