I had a FS1EDX, best bike I have ever owned. Got 62 mph on the clock but how good were they. Micron pipe, big bore, filed out inlet reed valve, oh the memories.

Happy days back in 1984. Bought on a P plate so not part of the newly restricted crop.
:thumbup:thumbup

the speedo cable on my fs1e actually melted as it couldnt cope, must have been going over a ton, it would wheelie in 4th.. ****** sawsome machine..

but then again, i was sixteen.. and back then waggon wheels were bigger than me head,..
and hard drugs was a couple of No6 **** nicked off me mam and 2 cans of iron brew...

mkd - with you there matey - i was 16 & thought i was king of the jungle on my fizzy

Nah !!! A proper sorted MBX80F stuffed me mates fizzy right up his fizzer !!!!

all my mates had AP50s but they couldn't take the Fizzy. Only mate who could take me had an SS50 with a C90 top end on it, now that could shift.

mdk - snap mate !!...1 mate had the ss with c90 head - the other was a clever cheating *******, he shoehorned a yamaha yb100 in to his fizzy & it went like f**k but wore chains out every other week due to engine being out of line with rear wheel - looked really weird following it

fizzy days were good mate - had no responsibilities, all i cared about was listening to the Jam, shagging my girlfriend & drinking hofmiester & riding my fizzy........

Unrestricted AP50 here, bought in 1982 - first ever bike. Mate had a Fizzy, as I remember they were pretty much neck and neck performance wise.

Still ride with the same guy now (only mate from school I still see). He mainly rides off road (races enduros) but has an 03 R1 - not a patch on my T mind! :biggrin

Us Colonials across the pond didn't have "fizzies". I rode dirtbikes as a kid and my first road bike was a '78 Z1-R that I still have. Dunno why I'm still alive.

Never had a moped meself, but when I was 15 or 16,I lusted after a Casal ST50.It was a trail bike that was quite big in size, almost as big as a 125.I had to wait another year to get my first roadbike,.....my dads handmedown BSA C15 250.

Shovel - stick a pic of your Z1 up on here - I'd love to see it.
