killswitch or key?

when i used to do bike training, we were always teaching newbies to use the key for general ignition operations and the kill switch is only for emergencies.

Reason given at the time was the kill switch is connected to the ignition earth circuit, and could spike the cdi pack. With more moden bikes having ecu brains, (Rsv Included) i would only ever use the kill switch in an extreme emergency because the key couldn't be operated to perform this function.

Makes no odds guys how you shut off the engine, it won't cause any damage to the bikes charging circuit or switches.

The kill switch is designed so that you have a means of shutting down the engine without removing your hands from the bars.

It's as simple as that.

However, I use the key for normal shut down. :thumbup
