With the honda you get italian styling and jap reliability. I just started to think about a change but as usual its easy to forget how good what you have is.
Reading on this site just concerns me, comments like, when it lets you down, and it will, although i`m drawn to a v twin for a change just dont want it to be a rose tinted glasses moment.
FWIW,
I think if you have been brought up on a diet of Japanese bikes, then something like a Tuono would be a bit of a shock to the system.:eek
Japanese bikes do what they do very well. They are fast, smooth, reliable and,...wash my mouth out for saying it,...some of them look good these days. But they are just a little,....'remote'.
European bikes do the same thing, but in a very different way. They vibrate, rattle and are just a wee bit rough around the edges. But its the feeling you get from them that does it for me,like that thumping great motor that no Jap bike could replicate. You twist open the throttle and it feels like its connected directly to the back wheel.
My advice would be,whatever you are thinking of buying,V2 or V4,...get a test ride first. Its no good running to the 'pooter and asking owners groups for their opinions because the answer will almost always be the same,..."Yeah,yeah,..go get one.":yes
Hey Roadcraft,I know what you mean about the seat. The one I tested gave my boney arse a real hard time. The motor though, was smooth as silk. You could drop down to 30mph in a high gear and it could still pull away without the need to change down.No funny noises either,...just a glorious sound from the exhaust. How they got that thru Euro laws,I'll never know.
Just my 2p worth.
