Hi All,

Just wondered if anyone has had any experience of this particular fault - "Intake pressure low signal"?

My T is running just fine and the only noticeable difference is a slight burbling and popping on the overrun when shutting off the throttle - other than that it's running beautifully.

Problem is that the service indicator comes on and stays on about a min after the bike starts up, together with the wee red warning triangle in the top right of the dash. I took the bike to my local friendly dealer to get them to plug in the diagnostics check, and they came back with the above fault code.

Seems it's the pressure sensor in the air box that is responsible for the fault, and Aprilia are asking a cool £175 for a replacement.

I've stripped out the sensor and checked the two wee pipes that feed into it, one from each throttle body - and everything looks fine. No dirt or perishing rubber"¦ ?

Anyone had a similar fault before, and was it indeed the air box pressure sensor that was the problem?

In the meantime the weather has been far too nice to let the bike sit in the garage so I've been blasting out and about, beginning to quite like the burbling and popping going on behind me as I let the engine slow things down a bit for the oncoming corner"¦ :))

Same old ***** here mucker,,,,,,,,,,,,,,SERVICE dominates the lower part of ma dials and has done for the last four years.

Still a bummer that it ain't right.

Ummm … I'm kinda getting used to the SERVICE display being there, but it's a pain as it means I canny see the trip without stop / starting and I'm also not going to know when the next sensor gives up and starts reporting a different fault. My biggest worry is that the bike switches to some kind of get-you-home-mode miles from anywhere.

Now if I had visibility of the faults code being reported I'd know at least if it was the same problem, or a new one … but I don't think there is a way to see the fault codes without plugging into a diagnostic device - right?

Mucker if yer hit the function button (it's the one that brings up the info) then whitever trip your in will be displayed fir aboot ten seconds,,,,,long enough to see yer mileage etc,,,,,,,ne need tae stop yer machine.

Right mucker, when yer service waring shows on the dash KEEP the bike running kill the engine with the kill switch, i yer turn the ignition off you'll loose the info.

Now go into the main menu and select diagnostic,, you'll need to enter the code 13432 using the function button can't remember the full biffta but you be able to pull up the flagged code/s.

Just mind not to kill the ignition, there's a list of codes somewhere on this site.

Cant find the fault code list on here.

Check this one oot,,,,,,,,,,,,,ECU Fault Codes.(Gen2)

Thanks Aldo! Appreciate the help - I got into my diagnostics menu and was able to access the ECU diag after putting in the code.

The good news is that at least the P- & A- Codes match what the dealer was telling me. Intake Pressure Low Signal.

I found a new pressure sensor on eBay for less than half what Aprillia were asking. Will let you know how I get on"¦

Cheers!

Just wanted to give a quick update

... received the new pressure sensor in the post today and fitted it tonight. Fired the bike up and good news - service light stays off and no fault indicator. Took the bike out for a quick blast round the block… 10 miles later… :) it feels like it's running a lot sharper and smoother than it was before.

Thanks Aldo for the point in the right direction about the diag menu and how to access!

Just need to get a few bigger runs in while it's still summer … :)

Sorted mucker. :yes :thumbup
