Indicator problem on 2001 RSVR

Got a weird problem on my 2001 RSVR :dunno :dunno

R/H indicators work fine, but only L/H rear works. It lights up but does not flash whilst the front one has 12v to it but doesn't light up ????

Swapped switchgear with a spare and the problem is still there :confused


Any ideas ????

Well I had the same problem (ish) My left indicators worked fine and the right stuck on but only the front. I assumed it was a blown rear offside bulb but yesterday I went to take the bulb out and switched them on for a second just to be sure which one it was that had blown and after a few seconds they started to work fine. I am guessing it must be that the socket on one of the bulbs needs bogging out with a bit of wet and dry. I will investigate later after I put the back wheel on with my new corsa 3:doug
 
It has to be the relay or the wiring and or terminals at the relay/lamp unit.

Normally if a bulb blows then the other lamp on that circuit flashes at twice the speed, however this is not the case.

You said that one lamp on the defective side lights up but does not flash and the other one on that side has 12V but does not light up!

I would start by checking all the terminals and earth points for that circuit. Start at the lamp unit that has 12V but does not light up.

If all ok then try a relay.

i know i know :biggrin push the bulb in a bit further or slighty bend the connector up a little as there`s sometimes a bit of gap. worked for me :thumbup
 
Cool, glad it's something simple like the terminals.

£29 for a flasher relay is extortionate.
 
Is that the Yamaha relay?

Send the link so I can have a butchers, may have a similar one laying around in my tool box.

Probably!!

I don't function too well in a morning, especially when I've had a few glasses of Vino the night before.

Was drowning my sorrows as had to let my beloved ZX6R go last night. I had owned it for 7 years and it was immaculate.

found indicator relay brand new after market to fit all models on ebay £5 inc p/p just waiting for mine to turn up:thumbup

Take a step back if its to cheap to be true as they say, made in god knows were, you plug it in and it malfunctions and could send power surges round your emu or any-thing better going genuine second hand
Not saying it will happen but is it worth it.
