Hi chaps, I ain't been on here for quite a while..... Cutting to the chase, my youngest son has cancer. After over a year of GP visits and months in hospital they found out he has a very, very rare form of peripheral T cell lymphoma (only 40 cases could be found that had been documented worldwide)
We have finally got Danny home after a 10month hospital visit..... This has set is back in the region of £10k due to a 70mile round trip to the hospital, a mobility scooter, a car to take the scoot + parking + our meals etc. you get the picture.
Danny is ecstatic to be out of hospital as most of his stay has been in isolation and its very humbling to see the pleasure in just being outdoors so I have decided to get a mobile home so we can take Danny away for short trips while he is able. Unfortunately this means my Tuono is going to have to be sacrificed to purchase a camper as we have used what savings we had.
So I have a 56 plate gen 11 with 9k on the clock, twin akro's, power commander 3, custom mapped, dynojet quick shifter, k&n, r&g tail tidy, puig screen, renthal sprockets (15/42) beowulf stainless rad guard, Oberon slave cylinder, shorty gold levers, touring pillion seat with handles, seat cowl and brand new Dunlop SportSmarts.
Do I strip it back to standard spec and try selling the parts separate or would there be any benefit in selling it 'as is'? As it is only going to fund a camper for Danny what do you think of looking to part ex at a dealers or advertise for a private 'swap' online?
Thanks if you have taken the time to read this, I'm totally gutted about letting the T go but it's not even a problem as its for Danny.... He's now 17 and bigger than his dad but he's still my little trooper :)

Mate,.......sorry to hear about your lad,but I do understand what he is going through. To cut a long story short,i'm a living breathing example of someone that has survived T cell lymphoma.I have been in remission for 3 years now.(Still suffering with the side effects of the treatment though.)
I wish Danny all the luck in the world,...but you need to keep strong too.

As for the bike, well if you take it to a dealer, the extras are pretty worthless,...they tend to favour clean and standard bikes.
Personally,I would have a go at selling the bike privately,....on ebay or similar. The goodies will make it more attractive.

Glad to hear your doing good keith :)
Unfortunatley Danny's cancer hasn't responded to chemo so the lad is battling it man to man so to speak, he's always smiling and we are very, very proud of him.
Realistically what price are early gen2's going for privately at the mo? (Been stuck in hospital so long I don't even know how much a tankard of mead is!)

Keep the faith man,........I had 3 different cource's of chemo,...each one getting stronger.None of them would touch it.In the end,I was transferred to Addenbrookes Cambrige where the gave me the strongest treatment available.Well it worked and I was rushed in for a peripheral stem cell transplant.

I know it's the wrong time for selling but if any of you are looking for a lovely condition T with all the bits (just remembered I put a rear piggy back shock off a rsv on her too) I'm going to be popping her on ebay but if you want to send me a PM thats fine will get some pics soon:) and rest asured all monies made will be put toward keeping a smile on a very special young mans face, cheers peeps x

So sorry to hear about Danny mate. Fingers crossed KB's consultant etc will bring some good news.
As for the bike, so many different views on selling it. I'd probably leave a couple of goodies on, but the power commander will bring good money on fleabay, as will rard guard and levers.
If you are buying a camper van from a dealer, they will take the bike in p/x, at which time I'd strip it back to standard.
Good luck with Danny & the bike.

Life can be so cruel at times mate, but it,s times like this you have to dig deep and carry on as best you can. Like KB said, there is always hope, and treatment is getting more advanced by the day. I have just battled with Hodgkins, and non Hodgkin's lymphoma over the past ten months, it,s rare to get them both together, but I went into remission 3 weeks ago. Keep strong mate, and fingers crossed your lad gets the treatment that he responds to.
As for the bike, in my experience the dealers want them as standard as possible, but your man in the street wants the toys.
Keep positive pal and good luck.

Sorry to hear about Danny, hope that KB can point you in the direction of a good specialist.... Will keep my fingers crossed for a speedy recovery.

Saddened to hear about Danny and hope that KBs info can bring a favorable treatment.

Stay strong mucker and good luck with the sale.

My heart goes out to you ... and to Danny.

Terrible times mate ... terrible times.

My thoughts and those of all of us here on this forum are with you.

If you're religious ... look there

If you're not, then look closer to home - into yourself and those around you because that is where real strength and character are to be found.

Hi ,good grief I was feeling sorry for myself until I read this. Stay strong ,easy to say I know ,sounds like you are doing an amazing job. Never give up ,a close friend of mines son was given a very gloomy prognosis.,They then tried different treatment and he is nearly clear. Good luck, your son sounds a fighter ,keep each other going all the very best.
