You are correct. It's not right, and to bleed it properly, you'll need to drop the caliper off the carrier, and then rotate it until the bleed nipple is at the top.
There are loads of threads on how best to do this.
Just did this mod, cracking result and very easy to do. Only thing to remember is to grind down the raised lip on original plunger into master cylinder as the 748 one is shorter and does not have this lip part. :thumbup

Better to turn it down on a lathe. Even if you can't do this yourself, it's not a big job to have done professionally. Should end up looking something like this.
Few pics of my upgrade mod.
Fitted an RSV4 m/c to clean the looks up and get rid of the remote reservoir.
Total cost of the m/c upgrade, including new brake line was less than £30
Anyway...see what you think....it's a Tuono by the way.....here goes.....

Rear MC from a Ktm 525
Gilles tooling set.

Also fitted the kit with a used akra slip I found online and a new zero gravity....
Now just need to grab some sliders and a short clutch and break levers.
And that's how it looks like when he's clean...

afford to get a new mc.. but can't afford to buy that aftrmrket rearsets.. after currencies conversation.. i could buy a moped bike in here.. huhu
I need this ASAP. I will need to get this in a step by step Power Point, lol. Please help. New to group and really don't wanna sell my old RSV 1000R due to this brake situation.

You'd get rid of a fantastic bike just because of this? Apart from slow speed manoeuvring, you don't need a rear brake with one of these; the engine does it for you.hehe
No, I'd get rid of a great bike that keeps having issues with the caliper seizing up. The first time it happened on the interstate which was sketchy but the 2nd time (2 years later mind you), I now have to replace the rear rotar as well. Replaced the brake lines last year. I won't even get to ride it this year due to an upcoming deployment.
Let's be honest, I love how sneaky this bike is.
Plus what other place would I get to start great twin debates like, which exhaust sounds best on an 03 RSV? I'm still rolling with that huge stock fart can

Do you ride it in all weathers? My bike is nine years old but mostly dry weather only, so the calipers have never been very problematic, unlike my Kwak which requires the front 6 pots to be cleaned of crud once in a while when they start sticking. Sounds like a simple maintenance issue.
