OK, I give in. WTF is that?:confused

"That" is the slave cylinder piston from the Tuono Clutch. I removed it, changed the seal, lubed the seal, flushed it, and now I have clear clutch fluid rather than black. Worthwhile, $22.00 USD for the seal and it took an hour or two. Lots of fun. A good flush is important to clear it out.

Here is the inside of the slave cylinder (Yes, click for big 'un's)

Here is where it mounts on the pushrod

Again the side and front of the piston/spring/seal assembly

When you finish, go ride it at the track :coocoo

A couple of other questions - is the seal the official Aprilia seal or a more effective OEM and what did you 'lube' the seal with?
You can see what my next jobs is going to be can't you?

The definitive post on this that got me going was made by "kzmille" on AF1's board. Here is a link to the post. Of course, we have a good bit of it here in the file vault and how to sections, but the description by kzmille is very good and worth a read.

Post up if you have problems. Also the post covers the wimpy rear brake issues.

Cheers my friend. Definitely my next 'mod'.

My rear brake is sorted thanks to heat shield, exhaust wrapping next to master cyclinder, correct bleeding and EBC HH pads. In fact, it's a bit viscious now.

I have a Tuono R, its one of the 08 (UK) models in the Ice Bianco White colour. Bought it on 15th march 08 and now have 5050 miles on it. Just had a week in the Scottish Highlands covering 1950 miles in less than a week and came home as fresh as a daisy, no aches no pains, brilliant fun. Going on a Tuono HOON with UK lads from the AF1 forum around Yorkshire on Saturday, supposed to be about 35 Tuonos going... which reminds me, where did i leave my earplugs LOL

I really loved the look of your bianco T from the first time I saw it on AF1 Scotsy. :cheers Not available in Oz though.:banghead

I am around 48 yo and a little on the rotund side of porky; and find that my '08 Nero T fits me very well. Great riding position and comfy seat added to its performance and handling make it hard to beat for me.

Soooooooo, getting back to this thread: I have a 2008 Tuono R, around 3000km on the clock with no major issues so far - soggy rear brake excepted. I have added Motivation sliders, Akrapovich slip ons (which I ordered with the bike), AF1 link plates and a Mustard Bikes tail tidy which, I think, really sweetens up the tail-end.

In response to the original query: I have a Tuono, but there's no mention in the owner's handbook as to whether it is a "dang" one or not, sorry. It was born in 2004 and is black, if that affects its "dangness"?

Dang right it does Sid. The black one is fastest dang one of the whole dang bunch.:thumbup

dang, I got me a dang red one :lol

I originally made the post when us mods and admins were here and I was the only Tuono owner

Jensen, I have to whole enchilada on a DVD I believe, unfortunately it is a few Gig. I could mail it or ftp it if you like, I think it basically is all years to at least 06, Tuono and Mille.
Any chance you could send me one please? If you want ot send it by DVD, I would send some post and packing money or my e-mail is [email protected]

Cheers!

90% of it is in the File Vault, i'll get to the rest after this weekend :thumbup
