How many miles to a tank is everybody getting?
My petrol light comes on at 85 miles. Tuono Gen 2.

Only getting 27-32 miles to gallon.I have a power commander V that I have now disconnected. Now running on map 2, will be out tomorrow to see if there is an any difference.

Usually the fuel light comes on between 90-100 miles. I don't hang about but I do tend to use higher gears to keep the revs down which helps fuel consumption.

Best I ever managed was 125m to the light, riding at about 75-80mph on A roads while touring in Devon / Cornwall.

I have tried it all, taking it easy keeping revs low or going like GP rider it seems to make no difference, or very little.
Will let you know after tomorrows ride with power commander disconnected.

I reckon I'm getting about 110 to 120 to a tank before fuel light comes on. Did a 95 mile run with Stix last week and rode onto Brecon from Abergavenny today which is 20 miles and then filled up when I got there. Light came on just as I rode into station making it 115miles approx

Gen 1 I got 130 on a tank before light came on. No PC, chipped and slipon. 15/42 gearing. Proven out three seperate times now. When ridden hard about 120 miles to a tank. Ridden real hard, wheelies and all 85 miles to a tank. Proven 5 times now..............:biggrin

...ah git a regular 35-36ish tae the gallon wi the light oan aboot 100-110 dependin oan the wrist action. If particluarly raspin aboot its less. Maks a big difference if ye fill up sittin oan the bike and trickle the last litre or so in an gie it a wee shoogle at the same time..worth an extra few miles afore the dreaded yella light!

Did 130 miles today on way to meet bay & with him around his neck of the woods and fuel light still wasn't on.

And no I don't drive like miss daisy but don't hammer it either. I think it's because I tend to short shift a lot, not a big revver me at all.

STix min...try switchin yer speedo tae read MPH instead o Kilomtres!

What you changing up at then Stix. I'm changing up about 8 I reckon and cruising at about 5-6K revs. Don't usually get into 6th on the roads we were on just pop it in 5th and leave it there. Still getting nigh on 120miles to the tank though but like Rico says I always fill up standing on the bike

I always fill up sat on the bike and have it damn near brim with the top of the filler. May as well get as far as you can between fill-ups!

I always work the engine hard, revin away like a gud un, Garry's pretty much the same. I've got 15th sproc now, map2, cans, Rene, whilst Garry's is as yet completely standard. We both get almost exactly the same miles/tank, about 80 till light on a raz. Best tank range I ever got was fully loaded with camping gear on with Mrs Nob on battering it on a motorway, 90-110 mph, got 130 till light. Fookin mad, funny things eh. The Rsvr was slightly better but no where near as much fun as the T :thumbup

Prob more like 6-7 I suppose most of the time. I did use 6th all the time yesterday and don't fill up standing on the bike!

On a good hoon around, light is on at around 85, but I do rev the bike a lot, I love the control it gives me of the bike purely from the throttle ... I did get 115 before the light last weekend after I left Gilo and Dave and had a really gentle ride up through Cheddar Gorge and the very long way home, and ended up putting 16 litres in at 140 miles, I think that's by far the best I've done ... I have also had to put 18.1 litres in at 110 miles before, although that was too close for comfort for me !

i get 80 - 100 not sure but is it a biger tank on the gen 1 than the gen 2 my gen 2 takes about £17 from light to full.

This is a case of deja vu. How many posts have we had on this topic now?
Anyway, all of the above, and i've done 35 with light on, and only got 17 litres in.

117m today and that was ragging it - cracking run round the lakes n up to Hartside - took £18 to fill it back up - 14 litres

I run a Gen 2 with 15t front and standard rear - 280 miles today mixed riding round Snowdonia & M54 from Walsall - had to slow down for PC Plod at times- I don't claim to be quick usually change gear at 7000 rpm except in the twisty stuff. Light came on at 98; 110 and 115 longest between fills 133 miles
